Vastu Tips For Position Of Bedroom

Vasthu states that the bedrooms are to be positioned in the western and southern wing of the house. However, this is to be planned only after making sure that appropriate spaces have been allocated, as per the below explained principal.

Vastu Position of Bedroom

Things we covered for you

+

The best position for your bedroom according to Vastu

The southern wing of the house is called Dhanalayam (for storing valuables) and the western wing is called Dhanyalayam (place for storing food, groceries, etc. which are considered equally as valuables, especially in the olden times). The remaining portions of the western and southern wing as well as the corner rooms are auspicious locations for studies and activities that involve education, professional work, office spaces, etc. As per Vastu, southern and western wings are also good positions for receiving and entertaining guests. Hence drawing rooms are located in the southern or western portion. After allocating the positions for storing valuables, study room and drawing room within the southern and western wings, the remaining portions of these wings are considered auspicious for positioning bedrooms. Thus Vasthu provides a wide range of choices in positioning the above-mentioned spaces in a house and still ensures that the peace and tranquillity of its residents are kept intact.

Is there a ‘wrong’ place to have a bedroom?

Vasthu does not state that bedrooms cannot be positioned in the eastern or northern wing of the house. Hence, on a general note, bedrooms can be positioned in all 4 wings viz., northern, eastern, southern, & western wings of the house. However, it is important to ensure that the Southwest corner of the house is a bedroom (preferably Master Bedroom). Also, it is important to ensure that the internal perimeters of all bedrooms are complying with the auspicious dimensions as per Vasthu principles.

How to position your furniture in the bedroom

The positioning of Furniture inside the bedroom while mentioning about the bedroom positions, it is equally important to follow the vasthu principle on positioning the bed in a bedroom. The bed is to be positioned in such a way that the headrest is towards the south or east side of the bedroom (i.e. the bed is to be positioned in such a way that we rest our head either towards the east or towards south while sleeping.) There is reasoning to this principle as well: While waking up from bed in the morning, it is always good to turn towards our right side and sit up on the bed. As we do this it’s important to face towards the major energy source of Earth viz., Sun (Rising in the East) or the major group of stars ‘Saptharishis’ (Rising in the North). Thus, in order to face East or North after waking up to the right side, we should rest our head to south or east respectively. Hence, the bed in a room should be positioned in such a way that the headrest is to the East or Southside.
Office or study tables in a bedroom should be positioned in such a way that we sit facing towards North or East while working or studying inside the bedroom.

Wardrobes inside a bedroom can be positioned along any of the four walls of a bedroom and Vasthu states no particular rule for the same. However, if storage is specifically built to store valuables (Lockers) in a bedroom, such storage should be positioned along the southern or western wall of the bedroom as per Vasthu.

Furniture Layout for Positive Vastu

A well-planned furniture layout can significantly impact the Vastu of your living room. Here are some essential tips for living room furniture placement which can impact positively:

  • Keep the Center Clear: Avoid cluttering the centre of your living room with furniture. Leaving this area open allows energy to flow freely, creating a sense of spaciousness and positivity.
  • Sofa Placement: Position your sofa against a solid wall, preferably in the South or West direction. This provides stability and support to those sitting on it and promotes a sense of security.
  • Avoid Sharp Corners: Round or oval coffee tables are better choices than sharp-edged ones. Sharp corners can create negative energy and may lead to conflicts within the family.
  • Balance with Symmetry: Symmetrical furniture arrangements often bring a sense of harmony and balance. For example, if you have a large sofa on one side, balance it with a similar-sized piece of furniture or decor on the opposite side.
  • Use Natural Materials: Opt for furniture made from natural materials like wood, bamboo, or cane. These materials have grounding properties and can enhance the flow of positive energy in your living room.
  • Declutter Regularly: Remove unnecessary furniture and decor items from your living room. Clutter can disrupt the energy flow and create a feeling of chaos.
  • Lighting Matters: Ensure your living room has ample natural light during the day. In the evening, use soft, warm lighting to create a welcoming and soothing atmosphere.
  • Avoid North-east: Avoid heavy furniture in the northeast, if possible, keep this portion empty.

By following these furniture layout principles, you can create a living room that not only looks inviting but also promotes positive Vastu energy, making it a place of relaxation and harmony for your family and guests.

Placement of Appliances and Furniture

Appliances, especially the TV should be placed in the South-east portion of your living room. If you place it in the South-west then you might have a lot of trouble with the TV. In the North-west, it could be a huge distraction and you and the family might waste a lot of time on it.

The AC or cooler can go to the West, East or North-west, avoid placing it in the South-east. If you have a chandelier, place it in the South or West of the room, avoiding the centre.

Artwork In the Living Room

If you are going to hang paintings or any artwork in the living room, then choose paintings or pictures that are vibrant and beautiful, like natural scenery. Is Vastu Important for a Bedroom?

It is incumbent to keep your home tidy and free from clutter to attract happiness and abundance to your house. All the broken things that have lost their value have to be removed from your home to entice more positivity.

A well-ordered home brings more peace and clarity to your household and that is the importance of Vastu. A home is a place where memories are formed. Hence, keeping your house’s energy field positive brings joy and abundance to your abode.

The master bedroom of any property is a crucial part of it. It relates to the head of the household. The east or southwest direction is preferable for placing the headboard of the bed. This is how Vastu benefits the family to live a healthy and long life. Without a proper bed position, you can’t lead an effervescent life. Even the colours and setting of your bedroom decor can affect your lifestyle as per Vastu. So, make sure you follow the guidelines.

When you are deciding on a colour that is compatible with a Vastu-compliant colour, remember that if having a full-blown wall in a single solid shade is not your vibe, you can always dip your toes into this space by including small elements in your room with these colours, and then over time add more of the colours into your living space. Vastu colours for bedrooms can complete your home.

Home Office in the Bedroom: Vastu Tips

Bookshelves or office desks should be positioned in the west or southwest corner by Vastu principles. To divide business and personal life in the bedroom, it is advisable to construct zones or places. The workstation needs to be arranged so that anyone seated at the table faces east, north, or northeast. Vastu advises utilising a desk that is square or rectangular. Ensure that your home office is roomy, uncluttered, and has enough air and light. Avoid sitting on the bed while working.

If you don’t want to paint the walls white, use a small amount of white in the form of a side table. White represents tranquillity, independence, and serenity.

Bedrooms with Balconies: Vastu Tips

Vastu recommends placing the balcony in the bedroom’s Eastern or Northern regions. Avoid circular balconies since they cause the residents a lot of problems. One can add a swing to the East-West axis. Brighten the balcony to promote positivity. On the balcony, you can keep small plants facing north, east, or northeast. The balcony grill must always be free of rust. Keep undesirable items out of the balcony so that energy can flow freely.

Vastu tips for bedroom lights

Sunlight, according to Vastu, has a significant impact on a room’s cheerfulness. Allow natural light to flood the bedroom for a few hours each day. From a practical standpoint, fluorescent lighting and overhead spotlights are helpful. Task lighting, on the other hand, forces your mind to focus on a certain task. For mood lighting in the bedroom, choose a few fixtures with warm lights. Dimmers are also available to control the brightness. To create a romantic and calming ambience, play around with light for illumination, reflection, and bling. Fix any broken lighting fixtures or blown bulbs right away. Vastu Guidance on Furniture Placement in Bedroom

Vastu Shastra is a traditional Indian architectural practice that emphasises the harmonious flow of energy in living spaces. If you want to follow Vastu principles for the furniture placement of your bedroom, here are some tips:

  • Place your bedroom in the southwest corner of your home, and avoid building it in the northeast corner.
  • Avoid placing your bed directly opposite the door. Instead, position it in the south or east direction and make sure it has a regular shape.
  • Place almirahs (wardrobes) in the southwest direction and avoid putting mirrors on their doors.
  • Keep electronic gadgets out of your bedroom, especially the TV. If you must have one, position it in the southeast direction.
  • Use calming colours like blue, rose, green, or grey for your bedroom furniture.
  • Remove mirrors from your bedroom or move them to another room.
  • Replace dark wallpaper or paintings with lighter ones to create a more peaceful environment.

Vastu and pregnancy

According to Vastu, a couple who sleeps in the northeast bedroom may have trouble conceiving, or if they do, the pregnancy may end in miscarriage. It is also believed that once a lady has given birth, the pair should avoid sleeping in the southeast bedroom because it is too hot. As per Vastu’s bedroom colour choose red to generate fertility.

Vastu for senior citizens’ bedroom

Use soothing colours like yellow, white, green, or blue to decorate the senior citizen’s bedroom. The bedroom of the family’s head of household should face southwest or south. Senior citizens can also use rooms in the northeast, east, or north. The direction of the bed’s head should be east or south. In the West, books should be kept on a shelf. In the northwest corner, set up a table and chair for reading, writing, knitting, drawing, and other activities. Keep medicines on a shelf in the middle of the room, halfway between north and northeast. Choose only the appropriate Vastu colours for the bedroom.

Bedrooms with Attached Bathrooms: Vastu Recommendations

Due to convenience and space limitations, baths and bathrooms are frequently combined with bedrooms in modern apartments. Vastu states that having a restroom in the wrong place can have negative effects on one’s health and finances. Vastu suggests placing the bedroom, or master bedroom, in the southwest corner of the home when the bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom. The other suitable orientations are south or west. Make sure the bathroom door is maintained closed because an open bathroom door might hurt the atmosphere of the bedroom.

Vastu for Guest Bedroom

The guest bedroom should be in the northwest, according to Vastu. The south or west side of the room is preferable for bed arrangement. The best sleeping direction is south, which means the head should be south. Make sure there are no beams above the bed. While staying in one location, the guest should experience positive sensations and energy. According to Vastu Shastra, the guest room’s cupboards should be placed on the south or west walls. Light colours of white, blue, and green are recommended for the guest room by Vastu because they promote tranquillity. Dark colours should be avoided because they make the room appear smaller and invite negativity. Make sure that the bathroom door is not opposed to the bed.

Remedy for Vastu Dosha in the Bedroom

Here are several basic treatments for Vastu dosha in the bedroom, however, it’s always best to seek assistance from a Vastu professional. In a northeast-facing bedroom, place a bowl of sea salt or camphor crystals. Negative energy is absorbed by sea salt and camphor, which is advised for correcting any Vastu fault. Paint the walls of a bedroom with a northeast orientation white or yellow (bedroom colour for Vastu). The scent of lavender aids in the removal of Vastu flaws in the northeast direction. The occupants of a northwest bedroom frequently experience wealth loss and stress. Maintaining a Chandra Yantra in the northwest corner of your home may aid in the removal of Vastu doshas.

Feng Shui Bedrooms: Tips and Benefits 2024

Feng Shui Bedrooms: Tips and Benefits 2024

According to Feng Shui, the bedroom is one of three energy centres in your home, the other two are your kitchen and bathroom. These rooms require a strong Feng Shui base and the quality of energy it produces is very critical. Is your bedroom a peaceful, inviting and relaxing space? If not, it is time to make a change so that your bedroom invokes the right type of energy. It’s easy to use the principles of Feng Shui to transform your bedroom into a place that you’d love.

Get a good night’s sleep with these Feng Shui bedroom tips:

  1. Add a touch of nature to boost feng shui in your bedroom: Enhance your bedroom’s feng shui by adding natural elements like plants, flowers, or water features. Incorporate wood or stone for added harmony and energy flow.
  2. Face the right direction for a good night’s sleep: For better sleep, position your bed to face the door but not in direct alignment. Avoid placing it under or directly opposite a window to maintain secure and balanced energy.
  3. Create a balanced layout for ultimate feng shui: Achieve a tranquil feng shui vibe by arranging your bedroom symmetrically. Place your bed centrally, ensure clear pathways, and avoid clutter. Maintain equal space on both sides of the bed and keep heavy furniture away from the bed’s wall.

These are some simple steps that can help you to boost the feng shui in your bedroom. Remember, feng shui is not about making drastic changes but about making small adjustments to create balance and harmony in your living space.

Best directions for your bed to face

Choosing the right direction for your bed in Feng Shui is crucial for harmonising energy and enhancing sleep quality. The direction not only influences your rest but also affects the overall energy of the room. Here are key guidelines for positioning your bed:

  • South: Considered one of the most favourable directions, placing your bed towards the south is believed to enhance overall well-being and prosperity.
  • East: Facing your bed towards the east aligns with the flow of natural energy, promoting a positive and rejuvenating atmosphere in the bedroom.
  • West: Placing the bed towards the west is also considered auspicious, contributing to a sense of stability and grounding in your sleeping space.
  • Southeast: The southeast direction is associated with the fire element, making it suitable for the bed’s placement to ignite passion and enthusiasm.
  • North: While not the first choice, positioning the bed towards the north is acceptable, especially for those who follow Vastu guidelines more leniently.
  • Avoid North-East: It is generally advised to avoid placing the bed in the northeast direction, as it is believed to disturb the natural energy flow and may lead to health issues.
  • Avoid Southwest: Similarly, positioning the bed in the southwest direction is discouraged, as it may disrupt the balance of energies in the room.
  • Align Head Towards South or East: Irrespective of the direction, ensure that the head of the bed is either towards the south or east for a restful and rejuvenating sleep.

Examples of Bedrooms as per Feng Shui Layouts

Achieving the best feng shui for bedroom layout is essential for promoting balance and harmony in your sleeping space. By following these expert pointers, you can create an optimal environment for rest and relaxation.

Optimal Feng Shui Bedroom Layout

  1. Ideal Feng Shui Bed Placement: The key to an ideal bedroom layout in feng shui is positioning your bed against a solid wall. This provides a sense of security and stability. However, it’s essential that the bed has a commanding view of the doorway without being directly aligned with it or any windows. This arrangement promotes a feeling of protection while allowing you to see anyone entering the room.
  2. Solid Wall Preference: It’s advisable to choose a wall without plumbing or appliances behind it. This choice prevents overstimulation of energy in the room, maintaining a tranquil atmosphere conducive to rest.
  3. Bedside Table Height: When selecting a bedside table, ensure it is not taller than the bed itself. This prevents a sense of oppression and dominance in the room.
  4. Minimal Decor: According to feng shui principles, it’s best to keep the bedroom free of mirrors, plants, workspaces, and electronics. These items are believed to carry their own energetic charges that can disrupt the harmonious energy in the space.
  5. Adaptability: While this ideal layout is recommended, it may not always be feasible due to room size, shape, or personal preferences. In such cases, adjustments can be made while keeping these principles in mind to create the most balanced energy possible.

Layout Adjustments for Various Bedroom Types

  1. Attic Bedrooms: Attic bedrooms with slanted ceilings can pose challenges. Placing your bed directly under a slant may create a feeling of pressure on the head. Instead, consider positioning the bed away from the slant. To counteract the downward energy, install sconces on either side of the bed that shine toward the ceiling with uplifting energy.
  2. Plants in Bedroom: If you choose to have plants in your bedroom, place them on the opposite side of the room from your bed. Opt for slow-growing, trailing succulents to avoid overwhelming the space. Ensure that the foot of your bed is not directly aligned with a window, maintaining a sense of balance.
  3. Multiple Doors: Bedrooms with multiple doors, such as those leading to a bathroom, hallway, and closet, can be challenging to arrange. Placing your bed in direct alignment with a door, especially the main entry, is discouraged as it’s referred to as the “coffin position.” This positioning can make you feel exposed and vulnerable. If necessary, align your bed with the closet door, as it typically involves less activity.
  4. Large Bedrooms: Spacious bedrooms may tempt you to fill them with furniture, but excessive clutter can disrupt energy flow. Consider creating a separate sitting area on the opposite side of the room from your bed. Use a rug to define this zone, ensuring that it maintains a sense of balance and openness.
  5. Mirror Placement: Mirrors are generally discouraged in feng shui bedrooms. If you choose to include one, ensure it does not directly face your bed, as it may create energetic disturbances. Pay attention to what the mirror reflects, favouring calming artwork over active spaces like a home office.
  6. Bedrooms with Many Windows: Rooms with windows on three out of four walls may lack a solid wall for your bed. In such cases, position the bed where you can still see the bedroom door, even if it means your back is toward a window while sleeping. Consider a canopy bed to enhance the sense of security and enclosure.
  7. Workspaces in Bedroom: While it’s not ideal to have a workspace in the bedroom, if it’s necessary, place the desk away from the bed. This separation helps maintain distinct energies for rest and work, reducing potential disruptions.
  8. Electronics Management: Feng shui recommends keeping electronics out of the bedroom. However, if you need them in the room, store them discreetly to minimize their presence. If you use your phone as an alarm clock, charge it outside the bedroom at night. For TV enthusiasts, consider using a portable projector or keeping the TV in a closed media cabinet, unplugging it at night to reduce its impact on your sleep environment.

Ultimately, the key to creating a successful feng shui bedroom is to pay attention to the flow of energy in the room and to make adjustments to create balance and harmony. Remember to keep in mind the direction your bed is facing, the layout of the room and the elements you’re using to decorate. Consult a feng shui expert if you need personalized advice on how to create the perfect feng shui bedroom for you.

Make Sure your Bedroom is a Well-Balanced Place

Feng Shui Bedrooms the Easy Way
Bedroom is a Well-Balanced Place

If you’re starting your life with someone, remember that it’s best to get a new bed as beds tend to absorb energy. When choosing a bed, see to it that your bed has a solid headboard. While you sleep your energy needs space to circulate around your body, if you have a bed that’s too low or has storage under it, your energy can’t flow.

 Placing your bed

You need to place your bed in the commanding position in your bedroom. This position is away from the door, yet it has the door in your line of sight. You should never have your bed directly in front of the door with your feet pointing towards the door. Another good tip to follow is to leave enough space on either side of your bed, don’t place it against a wall. Also, be careful not to place your bed under a beam as this would create uneasiness or a sense of pressure. If you follow Vastu you’ll see that the same rule is made there too.

The best colours to use in your bedroom are warm, rich earth and skin tones i.e. colours ranging from pale white to lovely rich chocolate tones. Some romantic colours can be used as accents such as red, pink, coral or even lavender. It’s best to avoid bright colours as they will create too much energy and cool colours will diminish the level of sensuality in the room. Use candles, dimmers and bedside lamps to control the light in your room at night and to set the right mood. During the day keep your windows open and let sunlight in. This will help to bring in good energy.

What to Avoid in the Bedroom to Boost Feng Shui?

Some frequent feng shui for bedroom no-nos can cause your room’s qi to be disrupted. When designing a feng shui bedroom, there are a few things to avoid.

Use mirrors sparingly

Mirrors are said to disrupt sleep and make a bedroom’s energy excessively dynamic. A mirror directly in front of your bed should be avoided at all costs. You can put a mirror inside a closet door or have it face a window if you want one in your room.

Feng Shui bedroom layout

A ceiling with beams, a skylight, a fan, or an angled design is not a good area to put your bed. If your ceiling has these features, move your bed away from them so you don’t sleep directly beneath them.

Remove all clutter

Additionally, it’s said that looking in the northwest, which is connected to the moon, can calm and soothe the people inside space. This is crucial for a guest room since it needs to provide guests with a calm and pleasant setting.

A pleasant relationship with the visitors may also be maintained by positioning the guest room towards the northwest. The northwest is said to be a pleasant and relationship-building direction. Thus placing the guest room in this direction might encourage good communication between the homeowners and visitors.

Although the northwest is often seen as the greatest direction for a guest room, it might only sometimes be possible. Therefore, a Vastu specialist should be consulted to establish the best possible orientation for the guest room, given the unique conditions.

To ensure visitors have a relaxing and enjoyable stay, guest bedroom vaastu is crucial. An old Indian discipline called Vastu Shastra examines the fundamentals of building and design.

The placement and arrangement of things in a space, according to Vastu Shastra, can significantly affect the energy and flow of the room. Therefore, you may make the guest room harmonious and welcoming by adhering to Vastu principles, which can improve the experience for the visitor.

  1.  Ideal Location

The northwest corner of the home is the best place for the guest room. Having the guest room facing northwest, connected to the air element, improve the visitor’s experience by introducing a sense of freshness and cheerfulness into the room.

Additionally, positioning the guest room towards the northwest may guarantee that the visitors get enough sunlight and fresh air, which can improve their health and sense of well-being.

  1. Entrance

The guest room’s entrance should face either east or north. According to Vastu Shastra, the east and north directions are lucky. Thus placing the entryway in any of these directions will help positive energy enter the space.

Additionally, positioning the entry towards the east or north may guarantee that the visitors get enough sunlight and fresh air, which can improve their health and general well-being.

  1. Colours

The choice of colours for the guest room may significantly affect the atmosphere and flow of the room. Therefore, the guest room should be painted in soft, calming hues like white, beige, light blue, or green.

These shades may provide a tranquil, welcoming atmosphere since they relax and influence the psyche. In addition, these hues can also give the space a feeling of spaciousness, improving the visitor’s experience.

The Art of Storeroom Vastu: Inviting Prosperity and Harmony For a Lifetime

The Art of Storeroom Vastu: Inviting Prosperity and Harmony For a Lifetime

The ancient Indian architectural and planning science of Vastu Shastra has been the foundation for creating spaces in harmony with the natural world and the cosmic energies that permeate it. The concept of storeroom Vastu is an essential part of this philosophy but needs to be more frequently noticed.

Adhering to the appropriate storeroom Vastu principles in one’s home or business can create an environment more conducive to financial success, personal fulfilment, and harmony.

In this article, we delve into the mysterious world of storeroom Vastu and share secrets to ensure an encouraging and positive environment.

The Role of Storerooms in Vastu Shastra

Storeroom Vastu
Source: Pinterest The role of store room position as per vastu.

Storerooms epitomise a pivotal component in the sanctum of Vastu Shastra, preserving the balance and harmony within an edifice by housing essential items and safeguarding invaluable possessions that are not in quotidian use. Moreover, the harmonious synergy of a well-designed storeroom facilitates the unobstructed flow of energy, thereby fostering a clutter-free environment, which is crucial for attracting positive energy and prosperity.

An optimally designed storeroom, adhering to the tenets of Vastu Shastra, serves as a repository for possessions, assuaging the risk of misplacement, damage, or loss. This meticulous organisation not only bolsters the stability and security of the stored items but also significantly contributes to the occupants’ overall well-being and financial success.

The Five Elements and Storeroom Vastu

The foundation of Vastu Shastra is based on the Panchbhootas, or the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. These components are intrinsically linked to energy flow in any area, making their harmonious coexistence crucial for sustaining equilibrium and cultivating a prosperous vibe.

These factors greatly affect the Vastu of a storage area, a vital but often overlooked part of the Vastu Shastra. By appreciating their function and applying their principles to the layout of the storeroom, one can create a space that serves its practical purpose and attracts good vibes and plenty.

1. Earth

Prithvi, or earth, represents steadfastness, support, and strength. The earth element is crucial in the context of Vastu for a storage room. It’s a haven for keeping valuables safe and provides a sturdy base for storing things. The stabilising and grounding energies of the earth element are best tapped into by placing storage areas in the southwest or west.

2. Water

Represented by the Jal element, water is associated with fluidity, nourishment, and adaptability. Although essential for life, the water element’s properties could be better suited for storerooms, as they may introduce instability and dampness. Consequently, storerooms should be positioned away from the north and northeast directions, governed by the water element.

3. Fire

The fire element, or Agni, signifies transformation, energy, and illumination. While this element is vital for various aspects of life, it may not be conducive to a storeroom’s purpose, as it could introduce excessive heat or volatility. As such, storerooms should avoid being located in the southeast direction, where the fire element is dominant.

4. Air

Known as Vayu, the air element embodies movement, communication, and intellect. Like the water element, the air element’s properties can introduce instability and imbalance within a storeroom, which may prove detrimental to preserving stored items. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid placing a storeroom in the northwest and east directions, influenced by the air element.

5. Space

Akash, another name for space, stands for unlimited potential and fresh ideas. While space is crucial for promoting expansion and individuality, it does not directly affect the Vastu of a storage area. However, designing a storeroom with space efficiency in mind can make for a more orderly and airy facility that makes the most of available space.

The importance of Vastu for your Toilet

The importance of Vastu for your Toilet
Bring in clarity and peaceful vibes by planning your home’s toilet as per Vastu.

The Vastu principles state that your toilet should be different from your bathroom. This works just fine if you live in a big house, but it’s not always possible if you live in an apartment.

However, you can still maintain peace and bring good energy to your apartment and here’s how.

The Toilet Direction as Per Vastu Guidelines

According to the guidelines, the best area for your bathrooms and toilets is the North-East part of your home. When designing your home, avoid constructing a bathroom in the South-West direction. It tends to bring out ill and adverse effects. But if your toilet is already placed in the South-West part of your home, you can place a Vastu pyramid on the outer part of the toilet’s wall, or you can keep the door closed at all times.

For a North-Eastern bathroom, make sure the entrance is along the eastern or northern wall. The best toilet seat direction per Vastu is the southeast or northwest direction. Basically, the person using it should not face the east or west. The windows in your bathroom should open along the west, north or east. The toilet position as per Vastu should be along the west or north-east. This applies to the bathroom that includes a toilet; it is positioned like this because the bathroom is associated with waste discard. Your shower or wash basin should be placed in the northeast or east part of your washroom.

Ensure your bathroom wall is not shared with your pooja room or the kitchen as it may lead to negative repercussions, and make sure your bathroom pipes lead towards the north or east. The best colours for your bathroom, according to Vastu, are shades of brown, cream, beige and different earthy tones. Stay away from dark blue and black.

Vastu Remedies for Toilet in the Northeast Direction

Vastu Remedies for Toilet in the Northeast Direction
A chain of clear thoughts can be harnessed by using the simple principles of Vastu.

The toilet location, as per Vastu, is essential. Those toilets that face the north or northeast direction are wrong, as they could harness negative energy. But here are some remedies for north-facing bathrooms.

Do not use the toilet in a north-facing bathroom; you can only use it if you want to bathe. Use a red bulb in this bathroom and keep it on for 247356 days. Put a northeast yantra on the northeast part of your home. Keep a full table of salt in the bathroom at all times and always burn camphor. Keep a palm tree and a fragrant candle inside the toilet. And always keep the door closed.

Vastu remedies for South-East Toilet

Vastu Remedies for South-East Facing Toilets
By making minor tweaks in your bathroom plan, you may harness the positive energy of Vastu.

Toilets in the southeast corner are not a Vastu compliant idea. According to the bathroom in the southeast corner remedy, building a toilet facing south, the direction of fire, can be harmful. It’s best to stay away from such restrooms. However, if you have a steeing like this, a toilet in the southeast corner remedy will definitely help. Place a Vastu pyramid on the south and east sides of the outer walls to counteract the negative effects of a southeast bathroom. Vastu salt can also be kept in a copper bowl and replenished once a week. Choose softer colours, such as yellow, cream, or neutral tints, for an extended toilet in the southeast corner. These colours work as a south-east toilet Vastu remedy.

Vastu remedies for toilet in North-East Direction

Vastu Remedies for Toilet in the Northeast Direction
A chain of clear thoughts can be harnessed by using the simple principles of Vastu.

Designing a toilet in the north or northeast corner of a home goes against Vastu principles and allows negative energies to flow freely. On the northeast side of the house, hang a northeast yantra. Burn camphor or aromatic candles inside the toilet to dispel negative energies caused by the toilet on the north side. Always keep the toilet doors shut. Indoor plants that absorb negativity, such as the money plant or the spider plant, can be kept. A bowl of sea salt should be placed in the toilet to absorb negative energy. Make sure you replace the salt once a week. Finally, make sure the toilet in the northeast is always neat and clean.

Toilet in the East – Vastu remedies

Make sure your toilet or bathroom isn’t facing east. This type of design can be problematic for your family, particularly for the oldest child. If you can’t avoid it, use bamboo on the roof to help mitigate the negative impacts.

It’s best to avoid building a toilet facing east. Vastu solutions may involve changing the colour palette in homes with bathrooms and toilets toward the east. Use earthy browns and greens in mild shades.

Vastu Remedies for South-West facing Toilets

Here are some southwest toilet Vastu remedies. Fixing 3 or 9 lead helices on the outer wall of your bathroom can significantly help. You can also fix 3 wooden pyramid partitions on the outside frame of the bathroom door. Place Vastu salt in a bowl made of bronze and replace it every week. Keep a fragrant freshener in the bathroom and place a pyramid shift arrow on the outer part of the wall to virtually shift the toilet, thus keeping your space in line with toilet Vastu.

Vastu for Toilets in East-Facing Houses

Vastu for Toilets in an East-Facing Houses
Adds the right curios to your space to make it Vastu compliant.

It’s believed that houses in the east are more auspicious and blessed with more fortune and good luck—the best place for toilets in east-facing homes is in the North or North-west direction. If you are constructing an east facing house, you need to stick to a Vastu-compliant house plan. The stairs, kitchen, and toilet location as per Vastu is in the 7th, 8th and 9th pada in the Vastu house plan. Avoid designing bathrooms and bedrooms in the northeast corner and putting a septic tank in the northeast corner.

Vastu for Toilets in West-Facing Houses

Vastu for Toilets in West-Facing Houses
Vastu compliant spaces give off a very zen vibe.

A west facing house can bring in a lot of prosperity if you plan and design it according to Vastu shastra. The toilet in west facing house as per Vastu should be in the northwest direction, and the commode direction as per Vastu should be in the southeast or north-west order. An alternative toilet direction as per Vastu is the southeast side. Construct your commode a few inches off the ground, and make sure that you do not construct your toilet underneath your staircase. Thus, it shall be compatible with toilet Vastu.

Vastu Remedies for Toilets in the East Direction

Having your toilet in the east direction is not a good sign. According to the Vastu guidelines, you can face many troubles, which may even affect the growth of your oldest child. You might even come across foot problems, and you might feel like your path to success may be blocked. However, if you are in a house with its toilet in the east, you can place bamboo on the roof to hone any adverse effects.

Vastu Remedies for Toilets in the North Direction

Vastu Remedies for Toilets in The North Direction
Vastu Remedies for Toilets in the North Direction

If your toilet is constructed in the north direction, it affects your ability to make independent decisions. It may cause ear infections; it may also cause the middle child to be scared. It can also cause diseases to surround your house. But if you are in a home where the toilet is located in the north, here are some remedies. The pit needs to be shifted to the northwest and paint the walls of the toilet black. Avoid using the toilet between 11 and 1 at night-time. Make sure that throughout the year, in every season, there are white flowers, which can be natural or fake, placed in a metal bowl facing north.

Vastu Remedies for Southwest Corner Toilets

Vastu Remedies for Southwest Corner Toilets
Vastu can help you get clarity and take out unnecessary stressors.

If you have moved into an apartment or house that already has its bathroom in the southwest corner, it’s alright. You can use some of these remedies. Place a Vastu pyramid on the outside wall of the bathroom. Make sure the door is closed at all times. The main entrance of the toilet should be constructed along the northern or eastern, border and the toilet seat direction as per Vastu should be in the north-west or south-east direction. Make sure to add a window opening along the north, east or west wall. The bathroom pipes should have an outlet towards the east or north, then it shall be toilet Vastu compliant.

Ten Simple Vastu Tips for Toilets and Bathrooms

While there are several remedies and precautions you should take when it comes to keeping your bathrooms and toilets Vastu-compliant, there are also a few tips you should keep in mind.

  1. In terms of the direction of the toilet seats according to Vastu, ensure that the bathroom is constructed as per Vastu in the northwest section of the house.
  2. Keep a wooden door for the bathroom to foster positivity, versus a metallic door that fosters negativity.
  3. Ensure that the bathroom door is kept closed at all times to avoid letting in any negative energy in the home and try not to decorate the bathroom door with religious idols or pictures.
  4. Ensure that the toilet does not share a wall with the bedroom, the puja room, kitchen etc. to avoid any negative vibes.
  5. Ensure that the showers and washbasins are in the eastern, north-eastern, and northern parts of the bathroom as per Vastu.
  6. Ensure that the direction for the water and drainage outlet (or the slope of the bathroom floor) of the bathroom is in the east, northeast or north.
  7. Make sure that the bathroom exhaust fan or window faces east or the north-eastern direction to allow for natural sunlight and air.
  8. Ensure that the toilet face as per Vastu is positioned in the northwestern or western directions of the house.
  9. Try going for brown, cream, beige and other earthly hues for the toilet interior colour, and avoid the colours or blue or black.
  10. In terms of bathroom size Vastu, ensure that the bathroom floor is at least 1-2 feet above the ground for the right bathroom size Vastu.

Place of the Flush – Toilet

According to Vastu Shastra, the flush toilet or commode should be placed in a location where the user can face any direction except west or east. As a result, the optimal location for a Flush Toilet is either in the Southeast or Northwest, facing North or South.

A Place for Bathroom Mirror

Energy is reflected in mirrors. Maintaining optimism inside the bathroom makes little sense because it is the disposal region of the house. However, according to Vastu, if the bathroom interior is properly designed, it can balance the position of the rest of your home. For example, the north or east wall of the bathroom is a great place to hang a mirror to reflect the space’s East energy. Place the sink in the appropriate location to make it appear clean.

The Best Colour for the Bathroom

Closed doors are always utilised in bathrooms. As a result, it’s critical to maintain the environment light and airy so that you can enjoy your long shower sessions. Light hues are ideal for keeping the décor simple and upbeat. Dark colour tones should be avoided in the bathroom, according to Vastu Shastra. Light blue, grey, pink, and white are the most appropriate colours.

Bedroom Vastu Shastra for couples and tips for sleeping direction

Many Indian families follow the Vastu Shastra precepts to purge negativity and unhappiness from their homes—whether it be during the building of the house, during the placement of the furniture, or even when setting up the room for a newlywed couple. In homes that welcome newlyweds, vaastu is meticulously observed—from deciding the direction of the bedroom to selecting the colour of the curtains and the wall painting. Following these Vastu guidelines for the home will help newlyweds have a happy marriage.

  • The newlyweds’ bedroom should face south-west or south-west, according to Vastu. It will promote romance, intimacy, and love. Select only the room that falls in these directions if you are a newlywed couple planning to refurbish your home. A room should not be built or occupied in the north, east, or north-east.
  • It makes sense that newlyweds would want to hang up their wedding or engagement photos in their space. Pictures should be hung on the bedroom’s eastern wall, per Vastu Shastra. This will ensure that understanding prevails. The eastern wall increases optimism.
  • A master bedroom in the north-east corner should be avoided, according to Vastu, as it might cause health problems and marital problems. Place the bed in the room’s south-west corner if the bedroom is in the north-east corner of the house. Sleep with your head in the southern direction.
  • According to Vastu Shastra, newlyweds should arrange their bed such that their heads are towards south when they are lying down. Black, grey, brown, and cream should not be used by couples for their bed linens, pillowcases, curtains, or wallpaper, among other home design items. Instead, they should choose shades like pink, orange, blue, and yellow. Because it is unhealthy, a mirror in the bedroom shouldn’t be facing the bed.

Ventilating Your Master Bedroom with Vastu

https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/cropped-view-woman-hand-open-pvc-2054972753

Caption: Vastu recommends placing windows in the north or east walls of the master bedroom to facilitate the entry of fresh air and positive energy, promoting health and harmony.

Ventilation is a crucial aspect of creating a balanced and harmonious master bedroom, as per the ancient Indian science of Vastu Shastra. It’s not just about ensuring air circulation but also about aligning with the natural energies for optimal wellbeing. Here are key guidelines to ensure your master bedroom’s ventilation aligns with Vastu principles.

1. Directional Flow

Vastu emphasises the importance of the direction of air flow in the bedroom. Ideally, windows should be placed in the north or east walls. This allows the gentle morning light and fresh air to enter the room, bringing with it positive energy and good health.

2. Cross Ventilation

Cross ventilation is highly regarded in Vastu. Ensure that the master bedroom has windows or vents on opposite walls to allow for a natural cross flow of air. This not only keeps the room fresh but also helps in dissipating negative energy.

3. Size and Placement of Windows

Windows should be large enough to ensure ample natural light and air but not so large that they overpower the room’s balance. Vastu suggests avoiding windows in the south-west corner of the bedroom, as this can lead to health and financial issues.

4. Balancing Light and Air

While ensuring good ventilation, it’s important to maintain a balance between light and air entering through the windows. Too much of either can disrupt the room’s harmony.

5. Avoiding Obstructions

Ensure that the path of fresh air into the bedroom is not obstructed by tall buildings, trees, or other structures. Vastu advises keeping the outside of windows clear to allow for unhindered flow of positive energy.

6. Incorporating Natural Elements

To enhance the Vastu of the room, consider adding plants near the windows. They not only purify the air but also bring in natural elements that contribute to a room’s positive energy.

7. Regular Ventilation

Make it a practice to open windows daily, preferably in the morning. This helps in refreshing the room’s energy and maintaining a healthy environment.

Vastu-Inspired Colour Choices for Your Master Bedroom

https://www.shutterstock.com/image-illustration/master-bedroom-pastel-colors-vintage-furniture-1501358774

Caption: Vastu recommends soothing and balanced colors like light shades of blue, green, or soft pastels for the master bedroom to promote relaxation and harmony.

Transform your master bedroom into a sanctuary of peace and positivity by embracing the ancient wisdom of Vastu Shastra. This traditional Indian system of architecture and design offers insightful guidance on how colours can influence your mood, health, and overall well-being. Let’s delve into the art of choosing the perfect colour palette for your master bedroom, ensuring it’s a place where tranquillity and harmony reign.

Embrace the Serenity of Blue

Blue, the hue of the sky and ocean, is celebrated in Vastu for its calming and soothing properties. Ideal for a master bedroom, it encourages relaxation and deep sleep. Lighter shades of blue foster peace and are perfect for walls, while darker tones can be introduced through furnishings and decor.

The Earthy Appeal of Green

Green, reminiscent of nature, promotes healing and balance. It’s an excellent choice for a bedroom, offering a restful and rejuvenating ambience. Opt for softer greens to create a nurturing and restful environment. Accessories in vibrant green can add a touch of vitality without overwhelming the senses.

The Warmth of Pink and Peach

Soft pinks and peach tones are highly recommended in Vastu. They symbolise joy and warmth, creating an affectionate and cosy atmosphere. These gentle hues are particularly beneficial for couples, fostering love and understanding.

Avoiding the Extremes

While exploring these colour options, it’s crucial to avoid overly bright or dark shades. Vastu advises against using black and red as dominant colours in the bedroom, as they can induce stress and restlessness.

Balance with Neutral Tones

If bright colours aren’t to your taste, Vastu also approves of neutral tones like beige, light yellow, or cream. These hues offer a sense of spaciousness and calm, making them a safe and elegant choice.

Incorporating these Vastu-aligned colour schemes into your master bedroom can significantly enhance the room’s energy, promoting a harmonious and restful environment. Remember, the right colour not only beautifies your space but also nurtures your soul.

Caption: The entrance door to the master bedroom should ideally be located in the North-East, East, or North direction, ensuring positive energy flow and harmonious vibes within the room.

According to Vastu Shastra, every element of a home holds significance, especially the doors. The master bedroom, being a sanctuary of relaxation and intimacy, demands particular attention to its entrance. Here’s how you can align your master bedroom door with Vastu principles to invite harmony and prosperity.

1. Directional Alignment

Vastu emphasises the importance of direction. Ideally, the door to your master bedroom should face North, East, or North-East. These directions are known to attract positive energy and ensure a peaceful aura in the room.

2. Material Matters

The choice of material for your door is more than just an aesthetic decision. According to Vastu, wooden doors are preferred for the master bedroom. Wood symbolises growth and vitality, fostering a nurturing environment in your private space.

3. Colour Your World

Colours influence mood and energy. Soft, earthy tones like light browns, beige, or even soothing pastels can be ideal for your bedroom door. These hues are not only aesthetically pleasing but also promote a sense of calm and serenity.

4. Avoid the Direct Alignment

Ensure that your bedroom door is not directly in line with the main door of the house. This direct alignment can lead to a rapid flow of energy, potentially causing unrest and affecting sleep quality.

5. The No-Clutter Rule

Keep the area around your bedroom door clutter-free. Obstructions near the door can impede the flow of positive energy into the room. A clear entrance welcomes tranquillity and balance into your bedroom.

6. Symmetry and Size

Symmetry is key in Vastu. The door should be proportionate to the size of the room – not too big, not too small. This balance ensures that the energy flow is regulated and harmonious.

7. Attention to Detail

Finally, details like the door’s condition and sound are important. Squeaky hinges or a damaged door can attract negative energy. Regular maintenance ensures the door functions smoothly, metaphorically keeping negative vibes at bay.

In the holistic approach of Vastu Shastra, every element of a home, including the ceiling of the master bedroom, plays a crucial role in fostering harmony and positive energy. The ceiling, often overlooked, is a pivotal aspect of Vastu-compliant design. Here’s how you can ensure your master bedroom’s ceiling aligns with Vastu principles to create a sanctuary of peace and balance.

1. Height and Proportion

Vastu emphasises the importance of proportion and balance. Ideally, the ceiling should be neither too high nor too low. A height that is proportionate to the room’s size creates a sense of openness without losing the cosiness essential for a bedroom.

2. Shape and Structure

The shape of the ceiling plays a significant role in Vastu. A flat, uniform ceiling is highly recommended as it ensures even energy flow across the room. Sloped or irregularly shaped ceilings can lead to an imbalance in the room’s energy, potentially causing restlessness and discomfort.

3. Colour and Texture

The choice of color for the ceiling is also crucial. Light, soothing colors such as soft whites or creams are preferred as they promote tranquility and reflect light better, enhancing the room’s brightness. Textures or patterns on the ceiling should be avoided as they can create a sense of heaviness and clutter.

4. Positioning of Beams

Exposed beams on the ceiling are a point of caution in Vastu. Beams running across the ceiling, especially over the bed, can create a feeling of oppression and are believed to attract negative energy. If beams are present, it’s advisable to mask them or avoid placing the bed directly under them.

5. Lighting Fixtures

When it comes to lighting fixtures on the ceiling, Vastu suggests simple, elegant designs that harmonise with the room’s overall energy. The placement of these fixtures should be such that they light up the room evenly, avoiding shadows or dark corners.

6. Ventilation and Energy Flow

Adequate ventilation is key in Vastu. A ceiling design that allows for good air circulation contributes to the room’s positive energy. Consider integrating air vents or a ceiling fan to maintain a refreshing and energetically balanced environment.

7. Avoiding Clutter and Heaviness

The ceiling should be free of clutter and heavy objects. Heavy chandeliers or intricate decorations can create a sense of heaviness, disrupting the calm and light ambiance desired in a bedroom.

Mastering Vastu-Compliant Lighting in Your Bedroom

Caption: Vastu recommends warm and soft lighting in the master bedroom to create an atmosphere of relaxation and harmony, promoting restful sleep and positive energy.

In the harmonious world of Vastu Shastra, the lighting in your master bedroom is not just a matter of illumination but a key component of energy balance and serenity. Here are essential guidelines to ensure your bedroom’s lighting aligns with Vastu principles, creating a space of tranquility and positive energy.

1. Directional Alignment

Ideally, lighting in the master bedroom should complement the master bedroom’s position as per Vastu, which is preferably south-west. Position your lights in a way that they enhance the energy of this direction, promoting stability and positivity in the room.

2. Embracing Natural Light

Vastu places great emphasis on natural light. East-facing windows in the bedroom capture the morning sun, considered auspicious and rejuvenating. Ensure ample natural light during the day for a harmonious and vibrant ambiance.

3. Warm and Soft Lighting

The bedroom is a place of rest and relaxation. Opt for lights with warm tones that induce calmness and relaxation, avoiding overly bright or white lights that can disrupt the peaceful energy of the space.

4. Balance and Symmetry

Symmetrical placement of light fixtures is key in maintaining balance as per Vastu. Consider using pairs of lamps, especially on bedside tables, to create a sense of equilibrium and aesthetic harmony.

5. Control with Dimmers

Vastu suggests that being able to adjust the intensity of lighting can greatly influence the room’s energy. Dimmers are an excellent option, allowing you to modulate the lighting according to the time of day and mood.

6. Avoiding Harsh Shadows

Placement of lights should be such that they do not cast long or unsettling shadows, as this can create a negative flow of energy. Aim for a soft and even distribution of light throughout the room.

7. Eco-friendly Choices

In line with Vastu’s principle of harmony with nature, choosing eco-friendly lighting options like LED lights can enhance the positive energy of the space while being environmentally responsible.

Where should you place the bed in the master bedroom?

Never have a bed in the middle of the master bedroom, and always see to it that there is nothing stored under the bed. Energy should be able to flow freely around and under the bed. Keep the bed in such a place that you face the South while sleeping. This will lead to better sleep and less anxiety.

Vastu Tips for Mirror Placement in the Master Bedroom

https://www.shutterstock.com/image-illustration/white-retro-mid-century-style-dressing-2360870471

Caption: Vastu Tips for Mirror Placement in the Master Bedroom: Mirrors in the master bedroom should ideally be placed on the North or East walls to enhance natural light and promote a sense of spaciousness, in alignment with Vastu principles.

When it comes to creating a serene and balanced atmosphere in your master bedroom, Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of architecture and space, offers invaluable guidance. A key element in this is the strategic placement of mirrors. Mirrors are more than just reflective surfaces; in Vastu, they are powerful tools that can either harmonise or disrupt the energy in a space. Here’s how to ensure they work in your favour.

1. Direction is Key: According to Vastu, the most favourable direction to place a mirror in the master bedroom is the North or East wall. This orientation is believed to attract positive energy, enhancing prosperity and health. Avoid placing mirrors on the South or West walls, as they are thought to attract negative energy.

2. Reflecting the Bed: A Vastu Faux Pas: One of the fundamental rules in Vastu is to avoid placing mirrors in a position where they reflect the bed. This is believed to invite marital discord and health issues. If you must have a mirror facing the bed, ensure it is covered at night to neutralise its effects.

3. Size Matters: The size of the mirror also plays a significant role in Vastu. Large mirrors are preferred as they symbolise clarity and openness. However, ensure they are not too large, as overly dominant mirrors can disturb the room’s balance.

4. Keep it Simple: Ornate mirrors with intricate designs may look appealing, but in Vastu, simplicity reigns supreme. Simple, clean-lined mirrors are considered best for maintaining a peaceful and harmonious bedroom environment.

5. A Tidy Reflection: Vastu emphasises cleanliness and order. Always keep the area in front of the mirror clutter-free. A messy reflection can symbolise and amplify chaos in life.

6. Avoid Cracks and Blemishes: Ensure that your bedroom mirror is in pristine condition. Cracked or blemished mirrors are thought to bring bad luck and should be replaced promptly.

Where Should You Place the Cupboard in the Master Bedroom?

The cupboard or locker is best kept in the southwest corner of this bedroom. If kept here, it’s likely that the head of the home will grow and prosper with ease.

Master Bedroom Harmony with Vastu-Approved Family Photos

According to Vastu Shastra, the way we position and choose items in our space significantly impacts our well-being. One such element is the placement of family pictures.

The Ideal Placement

Vastu Shastra emphasises the importance of the direction in which family pictures are displayed. Ideally, these photographs should be placed on the eastern or northern walls of the master bedroom. These directions are believed to channel positive energy, enhancing the bond and affection among family members.

Choosing the Right Images

Selecting the appropriate images is just as crucial as their placement. Opt for photographs that capture happy and serene moments. Pictures depicting laughter, celebration, and togetherness are ideal as they radiate positive vibes. Avoid displaying photos from sad occasions or those that evoke negative emotions.

Frame and Colour Matters

The frames you choose for these photographs also play a vital role. Opt for light-coloured frames, such as whites or pastels, which align with the calm and soothing ambiance of the bedroom. Wooden frames are particularly recommended in Vastu as they represent the Earth element, grounding and stabilising the energy in the room.

Size and Proportion

In Vastu, everything is about balance. Ensure that the size of the photographs is proportionate to the wall space. Overly large pictures can overwhelm the room’s energy, while too small images may not significantly impact the room’s Vastu.

Creating a Collage of Memories

Consider creating a collage if you have multiple photographs. This not only becomes a focal point of the room but also allows you to display various joyful moments together, amplifying the room’s positive energy.

Avoiding Certain Images

It’s advisable to avoid pictures depicting violence, loneliness, and sadness. Also, refrain from placing pictures of deceased family members in the master bedroom as it may bring heavy energy into a space meant for rest and rejuvenation.

Top 5 Feng Shui Kitchen Tips

Top 5 Feng Shui Kitchen Tips

If you have some basic knowledge about Feng Shui, then you are aware that there are 3 centres of energy in your home. The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are considered the feng shui trinity, so keeping your kitchen feng shui compliant is very important! It’s also believed that good feng shui in your kitchen will aid you in creating and accumulating wealth. But what does Feng Shui mean in the first place and why is it important? Let us find out.

What does Feng Shui mean?

Finding a clear definition of Feng Shui is similar to finding a clear response to any question involving culture and tradition. This is the common-sense notion that the spatial configuration of any given room has energies that might affect us in many ways. Feng shui is a Chinese traditional discipline that purports to harness free energy forces to balance persons with their environmental air. It is also frequently referred to as Chinese geomancy. The literal translation of the term “feng shui” is “wind-water” (i.e., fluid). Since ancient times, people have believed that natural features like landscapes including bodies of water might influence the way Qi (literally “cosmic current”) flows through a given area or construction. The right flow of Qi provides good fortune, happiness, a long life, and a loving family; the improper flow of Qi brings misfortune, as it follows the same patterns as wind and water. Astrological, astronomical, architectural, cosmology, geographical, and topographical factors are all included in feng shui as well.

Feng shui trinity is formed by the entrance, the kitchen, as well as the bedroom. A home’s front door represents its mouth, the point of entry for the Qi that will eventually materialise and have an effect on the residents. We spend a great deal of time in our bedrooms, so it makes sense that they would benefit greatly from being situated in accordance with feng shui principles.

According to one of the fundamental rules of Feng Shui, the kitchen should be located in the centre of the house. In Feng Shui, it is considered a symbol of wealth and abundance. Here, fire controls harmful Qi energy that might otherwise interfere with human health through its interaction with Feng Shui forces. Instead of searching for the best appetite gainer, you should consider the significance of these Chinese customs. In addition, the kitchen has all the components of Feng Shui—fire, water, earth (symbolized), and metal—in one convenient space.

For those who have already purchased a house, it might be hard to change a lot, so these are some easy tips you could use that would help positive energy flow through your kitchen.

Keep Your Kitchen Clean and Free of Clutter

There are plenty of spaces that we forget to clean or rather that get ignored in a kitchen. Spaces such as the insides of drawers and cupboards also need to be clean, replace the liners and see to it that you keep only what you need. If you find you have utensils that you hardly use or that just take up too much space.

Placement of Stove

Placement of Stove
Placement of Stove

The best position of stove in kitchen feng shui is away from the sink, dishwasher, and refrigerators. This is because the stove is a fire element, and the rest are water elements. Mixed together, it creates bad energy. Keep your stove clean and try and use all burners to draw in more positive energy.

Represent all Elements

The elements of Fire, Water, Metal, and Earth are really easy to find in the kitchen, but Wood is often missing. Represent wood by adding a bowl of fruits, a small plant or even a lovely painting of these will do. If you successfully manage to balance all the elements equally, you’ll notice there’s more positive energy.

Keep Everything in Working Order

If you can take care of what you own, it signifies that you can take care of yourself too. This is why you need to keep everything in your kitchen in top working condition. Right from squeaky doors to leaky faucets and burners, everything in your kitchen needs to be monitored and fixed.

Pick the Right Feng Shui Colors for Kitchens

The colours that you choose for your kitchen are extremely important. A happy chef is equal to great food. As the heat in the kitchen is more than anywhere else in the house use light colours that are bright. White, green, yellow, orange, rose, chocolate or red are recommended feng shui kitchen colours.

Explicitly toy with the light source

It’s especially important to put money into good lighting if you’re dealing with cramped quarters. Instead of using fluorescent bulbs, switch to LEDs. Note how the energy changes with each one. Layering your lighting can help improve the quality of the energy in your space. The usage of a mirror can provide the illusion of more space by reflecting light from the outside. You should definitely get a skylight if you don’t have any windows or other sources of natural light.

Show some creative works

In addition to brightening your day, a unique piece of artwork can also set your kitchen apart from anybody else’s. But pick your wall decor with care, as it will set the tone for the rest of the room. It could involve cuisine, or it might describe a particular outdoor or indoor cafe setting. Whether you’re going for a cartoonish, abstract, or realistic look, just make sure it fits in with your aesthetic and the rest of the room.

Insertion of glass into cupboards

While painting your cabinets may be a good idea, it’s not essential. You can find alternatives that are more in line with the principles of Feng Shui when it comes to cabinetry. Glass is the ideal example of such a material. As a result, they establish a focal point that is not overly stifling. Nonetheless, whether frosted or not, you should maintain order in your rooms.

What are some good Feng Shui tips on colours?

To use a Feng Shui term, there is no “correct” colour scheme to use. As a result, it boils down to personal taste. The aim should be an environment that is inviting and relaxing, while also being in harmony with the principles of Feng Shui. Some colours that work well in Feng Shui kitchens are listed below.

1. For stimulation, choose an orange or red colour

Red and orange are the most commonly linked with celebration and a full stomach. If you had a fledgling chef at home, they would be happier with an orange setting. However, exposure to large amounts of these hues has been shown to increase appetite, which is obviously undesirable. Generally, less is more when it comes to using energising hues.

2. In a complementary blue

To some extent, blue goes well with orange and red, although it often works against people. Being so uncommon in the natural world, blue has been shown to reduce hunger. Since this is the case, it is the ideal complement to orange, as its vitality is balanced by it. However, if you use an excessive amount of blue, it can lessen the attraction of the dish, which can be discouraging if you enjoy preparing meals for your family members.

3. Substitute browns and earth colours for black

Black is generally avoided in Feng Shui kitchens because it is seen as sad and because it visually reduces the size of your area. Although black is a dramatic hue, it may make a kitchen feel chilly and lonely. Nonetheless, most contemporary kitchens are decorated in black and white, and according to Feng Shui principles, extreme contrasts should be highlighted with red. Try to stay away from anything bright and stick to neutral colours like olive and brown. This adds a homey feel to any room.

4. Experiment with hues of golden or pale yellow

In addition to earth tones, the Feng Shui kitchen benefits from the use of the colours of bonding and assembling, such as yellows and subdued gold. Feelings of ease, calm, safety, and contentment are evoked.
