Karnataka RERA Extends Real Estate Projects Deadline by Three Months

April 8, 2020: As the supply chain for construction material has been disrupted across the country due to lockdown the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has given an extension on completion deadline to all residential buildings across Bengaluru. The MahaRERA had also extended timelines for completion of projects for 3 months.
Apart from disruption in supply of construction material, a majority of labour workforce has also migrated back to their home-towns. Given that the current circumstances are not conducive to the construction work.
The Karnataka RERA authority has extended project deadlines by 3 months for all RERA registered projects whose completion date (including revised completion date) expires on or after 15 March 2020.

The time limit of all statutory compliances in accordance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016 and the rules and regulations which were due in March, April and May 2020 has been extended till 30 June 2020.
