Intern Life at NoBroker: Real Projects, Real Growth

Every year NoBroker, we get some of the brightest minds interning with us. They work on some pretty neat projects while they are here and get to see their ideas in action across our various platforms. Apart from learning new things, the interns get to experience what it’s like to be part of a rapidly growing start-up. Here is what a few interns had to say –  Raghav Thapar - Business Analyst I was an Intern with NoBroker during my 3rd Year Summer Break. I worked with their NRI Division as a Business Analyst. The work was not only challenging but also really fun. Since the division was a new one, they were open to new ideas. I came up with a few of my own, 2 of which were finally being worked on before I left. Apart from this the interactions I had with my Mentor (Santosh Gupta IIT Kgp alumnus) and many other alumni from IITs and IIMs are amongst my fondest memories of working there. I gained a new sense of professionalism and a clear view of what it meant to work with a rapidly expanding start-up. After my internship, I got a Pre-Placement Offer from NoBroker which I wasn't at all Hesitant to accept it and would be joining their Business Team in June 2020. Everyone who is clueless about what to do after College should intern with companies like NoBroker to get a clearer view of what they want to do in the future. Ayushman Raj – Associate Product Manager Intern I'm an undergraduate at IIT Bombay, and I interned in the product management team. To be honest, I had no idea about this position. I had heard from my seniors that I will learn a lot overall about tech, business and design.         My experience with NoBroker started with fun and learning and ended with experiencing learning fun. I learnt about a product's competition and establishment in the market along with the technical and design side of product development. During my time here I worked on numerous projects. One aspect of doing projects in NoBroker was learning about work and the corporate environment. But, the major thing for me was public relations and meeting different people with lots of experience in different backgrounds. I liked the work environment, the helpful people, my product mentors <3 and the Friday snacks :) Thanks for all the summer memories, and I miss the morning meetings with Abhas, Nipun and Anupam. Miss you guys! Thank you.   Mohit Kumar - Software Development engineer I had a wonderful internship experience! The work culture is a perfect example of a flat hierarchy. I got to work with 3 different teams each with their own district objectives, the most encouraging part being all of them had undoubting faith in my skills. This greatly inspired me to give my best and complete things way before deadlines. I learned new technologies like elastic search, worked with the data scientists though I was a software intern, sat and worked next to directors of the company and of course a few awesome parties. What I didn't like? Just 1 thing, Lack of a play station ;) Karan Jha - Associate Product Manager Intern As an intern, I learned how to develop insights from a given set of data and customer reviews. I also learned the ways one determines the performance of a product, while simultaneously learning how to present the insights, in the form of graphs and tables.   Ujjwal Kumar - Software Development Engineer The internship experience with NoBroker was amazing. Having an interest in the software domain and an enthusiasm to explore the real-life applications of it, I got to work with the Android team of NoBroker. I worked on building an app that would allow residents of a society to have a seamless entry/exit. The basis of the application was using BlueTooth connectivity to send authorization signal from owners' cell phone and then using a server for authentication and then accordingly notifying gate security beforehand about the arrival of the person. This would ensure a seamless entry/exit for the residents of a particular society. Through this internship experience, I not only learned about the Android applications but also about the server authentication and Beacon connectivity system. The environment at NoBroker was terrific. From friendly people, an awesome office and the in-between games break; all sums to provide just the perfect kind of work environment one would like to have. And the delicious snacks are like a cherry on top of the cake. The best thing that I loved during my internship period was the supportive culture that the firm has, which gave me an opportunity to learn immensely during my 2-month duration. Not everything was perfect, well, in reality, nothing is. One scope of improvement which I felt was, it would have been better if before the start of the internship period projects be pre-decided and allocated so that work could start from the 1st day itself. To sum up, my 2-month experience was full of learning with tons of fun. The amazing bunch of friends that I made, the amazing people I met and the knowledge that I received was just the perfect two months I wished for. And how can the ending be complete without mentioning the treats & parties that we had :P.
