Came down to visit relatives near Hasthinapuram. Local MTC buses are frequent on the main stretch and shop options along R P Road are very convenient for quick shopping.

Drainage is a huge mess in New Colony when it rains, water stays mixed with sewage for days. Mosquitoes are unbearable and garbage collection on internal streets is not regular.

Chromepet GH and private clinics are right around the corner, which gives great relief. Train connectivity to Egmore is fast and local stores cater to all everyday needs smoothly.

The area is very busy and noisy all day. Crossings on GST Road near the flyover feel quite risky because traffic never slows down, but street food joints around the station are decent.

Rents are fair compared to main city areas. Getting fresh produce at the local market is cheap, and catching suburban trains for work saves a lot of travel time.

Parking a car near Laxmi Nagar streets is almost impossible now. Traffic near Mit Gate signal backs up horribly every single evening, taking 20 minutes just to cross the stretch.
