AFAIK metro connectivity is good but hangout spots, pubs and cafes are very less...also commute to Whitefield or ORR is painful. Overall, yes, people do feel things have improved, mainly because the metro made city travel much easier and reduced dependency on Mysore Road traffic. but inner roads, water supply, and local infrastructure still vary by area, so it’s better, but not fully sorted yet.

Been here 6 yrs...before metro, Mysore road traffic used to eat 1.5 hrs of my life daily. Now I walk to Kengeri metro station and reach Majestic in 30 mins...that one thing alone made life 10x better...everything else like roads, streetlights, drainage is still average but metro alone makes it worth staying here.

can we talk about the auto drivers at the metro station? They still refuse to go by meter and ask for one-and-half to go literally 2km inside the layout!!😶😶😶 Some things never change... even in 2026. Use the feeding buses if you can, they are much more reliable now.

If your office is in Whitefield or ORR...pls don't even think about Kengeri...I tried it for 6 mnths and gave up....one side travel was 1.5-2 hrs daily, metro plus cab plus walking, by Friday I was a zombie...Kengeri works only if your office is on Mysore Road, Global Village Tech Park or you are fully WFH!!

Don't trust whatever you see in online...they will say everything is at your doorstep...not true... main Kengeri and Satellite Town are well covered, but interior layouts like Kodipalya need a vehicle for basics...mysore road traffic is heavy during peak hours...

Even with all this growth, Kengeri Satellite Town is still way more peaceful than HSR, Marathahalli or Whitefield...the trees are still there, the BDA layout structure is solid, the noise is nothing compared to other areas...so calling it busy is true only if you compare with its own past. Compare it with rest of bnglr and it's still one of the calmer spots.

Houses are actually bigger and cheaper no doubt...Purple line metro till Challaghatta has helped a lot, now reaching Majestic is easy...but after Majestic again you have to change and all...so job proximity is useless unless you work near MG Road or city center...most people here are govt employees..teachers..families...not much IT crowd!!

If you save 8k in rent but spend 4k on petrol and 2 hrs daily in traffic, are you really winning? Kengeri is very cheap for 2 bhks compared to CBD area, but the travel will drain your energy...move here only if your office is flexible with timings but if you have to be at your desk by 9 am sharp, the stress will eat up all your savings!!!

I did this for a year and the Purple line metro is your only saving grace. If you’re working near a station, it’s doable. But if you’re commuting by road, the traffic at Mysore Road junction will break your spirit. Saving 5k isn't worth 3 hours of daily exhaustion tbh

Internet is generally fine since most major providers like Airtel, Jio, ACT are available. It’s not a problem area for broadband...just pick a good ISP and you’re sorted

Internet is no tension, ACT and Airtel Xstream are everywhere and speed is also good...but power is the problem during rainy season...BESCOM guys act like they've never seen rain before!! A lot of us stay in Kengeri because it’s the first stop on the Purple Line....while people in Indiranagar or MG Road are fighting to squeeze into a packed train, we get to sit comfortably for the entire 70 min ride to Whitefield. If you have a laptop and can start your emails on the train, the commute actually feels productive instead of just wasted time!

Kengeri feels like a different city altogether....it's quiet and green, but your social life will be zero..if your friends ask to meet in Koramangala or Indiranagar, you’ll start making excuses because the 25 km travel feels like an international flight...only stay here if you're a homebody!! or else move closer if you like a social life!

Did this for 3 months… never again. On maps it looks doable but IRL it’s like 1.5-2.5 hrs one side depending on traffic. You basically live on the road. it will eat your time AND energy both

Kengeri 😱 if your office is in Whitefield, try staying in Hoodi...Varthur...or even Hoskote side....Kengeri is nice and green, but the daily travel will kill you slowly...you'll reach home so tired that you'll just eat and sleep...and then wake up to do the same thing again. Use the time you save on travel to actually enjoy your life bro! 🤝

Not really practical long-term. You can expect about 1–1.5 hrs one-way, even with the bus or the metro. ,So the daily commute becomes tiring and unsustainable over time, despite being technically doable.

Metro is great until 8 am and after 10 am..btwn 8 and 10 the compartments are stuffed. I have missed 2 trains in a row before just because I could not get in. If your office has flexible timing this is totally manageable. But if you have a strict 9 am punch in and you are coming from Kengeri, plan to leave home by 7.45 at least....the metro is not the problem, the crowd is!

Depends fully on where your office is...if your office is on the Purple Line itself, yes 100% worth it! but if you still have to take an auto or cab after getting off metro, then the advantage reduces quite a bit...don't just pay metro premium without checking your last mile first.

Tbh Kengeri is what Bangalore used to be 15 years ago. Quiet, slow and kinda wholesome but also boring if you’re used to city chaos. there is less cafes, no pubs or late-night scenes. Compare that to Indiranagar/HSR and it’s obvious why younger crowd isn’t moving there despite the space.

Here is my Feb month's total spending in Kengeri for 2 people Rent - 14k (1BHK) Groceries/Milk - 8.5k - 9k Veggies - 2.5k - 3.2k Electricity & Water - 2.5k Wifi - 1.5k Eating out & Zomato order - 6k Total is around 36k. In Marathahalli, the rent alone would have been 25k! So yes, it is definitely cheaper.

Was paying 28k in RR Nagar... same 2BHK near Bande Mutt area I got for 17k. Purple Line metro from Kengeri terminal goes directly to rajaji nagar... nice road junction morning traffic is bad but only if you are going by road... metro people are mostly fine. Budget wise good, lifestyle wise you cannot compare with Koramangala...

Straight answer bro, simple fundaa only...office on mysore road, rajajinagar, yeshwanthpur, mg road, anywhere on purple line areas then Kengeri is full paisa vasool. But office in whitefield, electronic city, outer ring road, marathahalli side then Kengeri will slowly drive you pagal. Purple Line metro is a total game changer but only if your destination is on that same line itself. Otherwise yaar, cheap rent is just ek dum trap only, nothing else.

Bro water tanker near subhash nagar side buildings is straight up gone case. Bore well fails, tanker bill will be 800 to 1200 just like that. Auto fellows inside KST also too much yaar, 80 to 100 for 5 mins distance, full oversmartness. These things will add 2k to 3k every month only. See the rent, feel happy, then month end comes and you are like what happened to my money. Think about all this before finalising budget da.

Don't even bother looking on the apps. They’ll show you the same 5 overpriced managed flats. Just take a weekend, ride around Shirke Layout or Kommaghatta on a bike, and look for TOLET boards. I found a 2BHK for 16k last month just by talking to a bakery uncle. The internet price for this area is a scam.
