Chakan is a major industrial hub in north Pune, closely linked to sub-localities like Medankarwadi, Ambethan, and Kharabwadi near the Chakan MIDC belt. The PIN code of Chakan is 410501. The neighbourhood offers a mixed-use residential vibe with family options near landmarks like Innovative International School, Anand Hospital, and Chakan Fort. Though there are no metro stations, the locality is supported by Pune-Nashik Highway NH-60, Talegaon-Chakan Road, and PMPML bus routes connecting to other areas in Pune. Real estate prices are between Rs. 3,350 and Rs. 4,950 per sq. ft., and are supported by steady rental demand.
Bought a 2BHK last year—great value, but still waiting for nearby shops and schools to develop. Roads have improved, though traffic can pile up during peak hours.
As an owner, I enjoy the low maintenance and good community vibes. Property prices are slowly rising, but infrastructure development is quite slow.
I invested in a pre-launch project in Chakan. The price was great, but possession has been delayed. Still, I’m optimistic because of future metro plans.
Tenant here since 2022—safe neighbourhood and clean air. Only issue is public transport options are limited, so I rely on my bike a lot.
Nice roads, peaceful vibe, and my flat is spacious. But as a tenant, the nightlife and hangout spots are non-existent.
Living in Chakan helped me save a lot on rent. The area feels safe, though not very lively. It's fine if you value peace and savings.
Chakan is both a residential and industrial area. most buildings are old and there are just a few well maintained apartment buildings. Nonethless, it is a good area for affordable living
I live here on rent and it's been around 6 months. Apart from poor drainage and limited transportation, it is a good area and close to many essentials
Chakan is usually very noisy and crowded probably due to industrial activities. I am renting a 1 BHk near mahatma phule chowk and the rent is quite reasonable but area is very dusty
I have a house in Shree Swami Samarth Colony and that part is somewhat green as its close to some grounds and parks. there are many hospitals and clinics nearby. But the nashik pune highway is heavily congested and the area around chakan market is very unclean and crowded
Chakan is growing rapidly and is quite underrated in real estate market. The property rates are going up and new projects are coming up too. It is part residential and part industrial so most people don't like to live here but the growing amenities and residential apartments make it a good choice in coming years.

Daily traffic at Shikrapur road junction is total pain in the evening. Heavy container trucks block everything for hours. Autos charge whatever they want near the bus stand... somehow managing because work is close.
Shops for daily grocery and basic stuff are very close now near Ambethan road. Water comes fine in the morning, only weekend crowds near the main market get a bit annoying.
Finding a good eating spot near Talegaon chowk is easy, but walking on the road is risky. Footpaths are completely missing or blocked by local shops... okayish if you have a bike.
Rents are solid around 10k for decent places, but roads inside the internal sectors have big potholes. Dust from heavy vehicles is the only issue everyday.
Water supply is given for only 2 hours in morning, total headache. On top of that heavy truck noise stays all night near the main highway signal... cannot sleep properly.
Getting vegetables and fresh things from the local market is super cheap. Streets are mostly calm in the morning hours before industrial vehicles start moving. Everything sorted for daily living.
Bus options from the main chowk to Pune city are frequent, but getting an auto at night is difficult. Drivers ask double rates after 9 PM.
Drains are never cleaned around here and mud gets everywhere during rains. Traffic near the industrial belt signal takes at least 40 minutes just to cross 2 km... FR fed up.
Everything needed for daily home stuff is available within walking distance near the main market. Rent is around 12k which is totally fine IMO.
Plenty of small mess options and tea shops open late. Area stays safe enough to move around in the evening near main roads.
