Renting a house here is very cheap, under 7k for a decent place. The area is peaceful, but you absolutely need a bike to buy basic things since major shops are only near Chengalpattu town.

Water supply is the main problem in Nenmeli, the panchayat water comes only on alternate days. We have to manage with borewell water which is very hard, or buy cans for cooking.

Travel to the Mahindra World City tech park is quick via the GST Road, takes about 15 minutes by bike. The main road has good bus connectivity, but getting a seat in the morning is tough.

Staying in a shared room here is budget friendly, but there is zero nightlife or good food spots around. You have to travel to Chengalpattu for coaching classes or standard stationary shops.

The area is very calm and free from city noise, which is nice for walking in the mornings. However, the local clinic has very basic facilities and we must go far for any major checkup.

Streets are safe and there is less traffic inside the residential lanes, but streetlights do not work on most corners. Also, the schools are a bit far, so daily travel for classes is tiring.

Setting up a shop here is risky because the local footfalls are very low. Most residents go to the main Chengalpattu market for their weekly shopping, so business here is very slow.

Coming here by bus is easy as it is right off the highway, but auto drivers at the stop ask for huge money for short distances. They refuse to use any fixed rates.

Plots and land prices are quite low now compared to main Chengalpattu, making it a good long-term bet. Rental demand is slowly growing from workers looking for cheap housing options near the highway.

Roads inside the village areas are completely broken and full of mud during the monsoon season. The drains are open and never cleared on time, leading to a massive mosquito menace every evening.
