Lovely neighborhood!! there are parks, cafes, shopping malls, local markets..all within close distance..as a student, i couldnt have asked for a better area..i just wish the traffic got better
Water comes for only 2 hours daily in the morning, so storing it is a must. But living near Phadke Road is great for festival vibes and shopping is super easy. Everything you need for the house is close.
Schools like Model English are quite close so travel time is saved. Only problem is the garbage dumped on the side of internal streets near Tilak Nagar... makes walking around unpleasant in the evening.
Traffic at Katemanivali signal during peak morning hours takes forever to clear. If you drive a car here everyday, parking is a pain. Better to take a shared auto to the station and hop on a fast train.
Dombivli West side feels much quieter than East. Walking near Rotary Garden in the morning is nice, but roads here get completely waterlogged during heavy rains. You just have to manage for those few months.
Footpaths around Bajiprabhu Chowk are full of hawkers, so walking on the main road is risky. Street lights work fine though, so night time walking feels safe enough. Healthcare clinics are everywhere around here.
Finding parking space near Gandhi Nagar is almost impossible on weekends. I usually just park far away and walk. Plenty of good places to eat chai and snacks near the station area though.
Renting out a flat near Palava side is smooth since rents are around 12k to 15k for 1BHK. Main issue is heavy dust from all the truck movement along the Kalyan Shilphata road.
Staying in a PG near Pendharkar College is very sorted. Fast food joints, photocopy shops, and stationary stores are all within 5 mins walking distance. Commute by KDMT bus is cheap too.
Very vibrant area..its great for students who want a fun, social nightlife..there is clay kitchen and bar, which is super lively and cheap also..also lots of cafes around and good chinese at Changu Mangu cafe
