Close proximity to institutions like Delhi University, numerous schools including St. Columba's School and Delhi Public School, and arterial roads like Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road and Rajendra Place ensure strong connectivity. The pincode of Block 39 Old Rajinder Nagar New Delhi, Delhi is 110060. The neighbourhood is known for its pedestrian-friendly layout, educational excellence, and secure gated community feel, though it has experienced steady gentrification and rising property values in recent years.
Karol Bagh metro is close by but the autos outside always refuse to go on meter or charge double. Evening traffic on the main road gets totally choked by 7 PM. Honestly getting home takes 30 minutes extra daily... so frustrating.
Parking is a huge headache here for anyone coming to the market. Loading goods in the morning gets delayed every day because the lanes are too narrow and blocked by parked bikes. The municipality people rarely clear the open drains properly.
Great street food spots all over Rajinder Nagar market area. I come here twice a week for coaching classes and finding a quick bite is never an issue. Just that finding space to park a car is almost impossible after 5 PM.
Pusa Road area is very easy for getting food late night. So many coaching institutes around so everything needed for daily life like print shops and tea stalls are open till late. Rent is a bit high though for small rooms.
Demand for rooms here is always full because of students, so rental income is steady. But the inner roads are in bad shape with potholes. Electricity goes off for short cuts during peak summer, basic services need work.
Garbage is just dumped on the corner near the main market signal and smells terrible in this heat. So many stray dogs around at night, walking alone after 10 PM feels really unsafe. IMO the rent here is not worth it at all.
Monsoon time the water logs quickly near the main entry point... takes hours to clear out. Autos and rickshaws are available easily at least, so going to the metro station is simple. Just have to adjust with the crowd and noise daily.
Water supply comes only for 2 hours in the morning here. Walking on the footpaths is very tricky because cars are parked everywhere on the side streets. Parks are nice and green though if you go early before the crowd comes.
Good schools are close by and buses run frequently on the main stretch. The street lights work properly in most lanes so evening walks feel safe. Everything is available nearby, very practical place to stay.

Block 39 Old Rajinder Nagar New Delhi has emerged as a premium central Delhi address, with steady appreciation of 8–12% year-on-year driven by its institutional proximity, heritage status, and limited new supply. The locality commands higher valuations than peripheral areas due to its established infrastructure, tree cover, and proximity to Delhi University and corporate hubs. Buy prices range from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 35,000 per square foot depending on age, orientation, and floor height, with older properties commanding heritage premiums and newer renovations pushing higher. Shops for groceries and daily stuff are right outside so no need to travel far for basic things. Safdarjung hospital is also easily reached from this side. Traffic gets noisy near the main road during peak hours, otherwise area is quite decent.
