Ashok Nagar is a densely populated residential sub-locality in Shahdara, East Delhi. The PIN code for Ashok Nagar Shahdara, Delhi is 110093. It is bordered by established micro-markets such as Yamuna Vihar, Nand Nagri, and Harsh Vihar. This busy neighbourhood maintains a lively vibe and is highly preferred by families for its proximity to prominent landmarks such as GTB Hospital and Little Flowers Public School. For rapid commuting, residents rely on the Gokulpuri metro station on the Pink Line, located 2.5 km away. Well-connected via Wazirabad Road and Loni Road, the area provides seamless bus access, keeping the travel time to Anand Vihar Terminal to 25 minutes. Property rates in Ashok Nagar for 2026 average around Rs. 10,015 per square foot. The local real estate landscape features independent houses and affordable builder floors, with 2 BHK and 3 BHK units maintaining strong rental demand.
The area feels very dense. its not usually quiet. and there's constant honking and traffic.
Good social infrastructure nearby. There are reputed schools and colleges. Hospitals also within 2-3 km. But one downside i have seen is the irregular municipal maintainence inside smaller blocks
I have been renting here for 2 years. As a college student, this area works great. its affordable, walkable to colleges and supermarkets, and other essentials. not many cafe or restaurant options inside though. you have to go towards dilshad garden
Because Ashok Nagar is affordable and connected, the rental yield is steady. but even within the area, parts closer to mandoli road have better resale prospects than inner blocks
Mornings are nice if you go for a walk inside the pocket parks, quite calm. But evenings are different because youths ride bikes too fast through the internal streets, makes it unsafe for older people to step out on the lanes.
Good area because multiple schools are within walking distance, so daily travel is sorted. The streets feel safe enough during daytime, and there are small grocery stores at every corner to buy daily milk and bread quickly.
Decent area for students because everything you need is right outside. So many small eateries and photocopy shops are there near Chander Nagar road. Finding a shared auto is also quick, though they pack too many people in one go.
Moving around from here is easy because the metro station is close by. I just walk down the internal lane and reach the station in 5 minutes, which saves a lot of time daily. It gets crowded at peak hours but totally manageable.
Parking is an absolute disaster on the main market lanes. Customers avoid coming by car because there is zero space to park, and even loading goods in the morning is difficult because bikes are blocked everywhere. The lanes are just too narrow.
Water supply is a big pain now. The whole area gets water only for 1 hour in the morning and the pressure is very low, we have to keep the pumps running constantly. Really fed up with this daily headache.
The roads are completely broken after the rains and nothing is being done. Potholes are everywhere near the central market side, my scooter skidded twice last week. Walking is impossible because the footpaths are blocked by shop stuff worst experience.
I come here every weekend and notice that garbage is just left on the corners of the main roads sometimes. It smells bad near the main dump point. Otherwise the market has good stuff and prices are quite cheap.
Properties here have good rental demand because of the connectivity. The metro is right here so houses never sit empty, tenants are always ready to move in. Roads inside are tight but the location keeps the value high.
Rent is okayish here, I pay 14k for a small place. The area has everything nearby but the main junction near the metro always has too much of traffic in the evening... takes ages to cross if you are in an auto.
