The reason for the eviction was to make space for the expansion of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). The people were relocated to Cheeta Camp Trombay, which was then a barren land with no basic amenities. Over the years, the locality evolved from a makeshift settlement into an organized residential area.

The area has good facilities considering the price. Property rates are comparatively lower than Chembur, so buying a house here is affordable. But it's better to have your own vehicle because Trombay bus stop is mostly crowded and metro is 5 km away. Other than that, everything is good.

Having lived here for almost 10 years, I can say that it's not an area you'll love instantly. It has its own pros and cons. What I love about it is the peaceful atmosphere, community feeling, and social gatherings during festivals. Traffic can be annoying at times but you get used to it.

It's a good locality if you avoid peak traffic to Chembur in the mornings. Positive is that grocery stores and food options are all around so it makes things easier. One major disappointment could be the open gutters and unclean public toilets.

Came here for a job interview at Trombay High School. The roads are smooth but the area was crowded and felt noisy.

Rent is cheap as compared to Chembur. Basic amenities like banks, small clinics are within road distance. Not enough cafes around.
