It's a good area except a few things. Roads are too narrow and feel congested. Waterlogging is common, as in any part of Chennai. The connectivity is good as it's close to Velachery, my office area. Daily needs are available within reach. It's peaceful.

We’ve lived here for 12 years. The lack of proper footpaths and stormwater drainage is a concern. Still, the neighbourhood is safe and friendly

Good long-term investment, especially if metro expansion reaches this side in future. But for now, limited commercial development is a drawback. Also the civic infrastructure like drainage and internal roads need serious improvement

SIVET College is close and PG rents here are very affordable for Chennai. Quiet area, fine for studying. The downside is everything beyond the immediate locality needs a vehicle or a long bus ride, which gets tiring quickly.

200 Feet Radial Road and GST Road make movement from Vellakkal easy. Daily essentials trade is steady given the residential density. Not a high volume area yet but slowly picking up as more residents settle in around Vellakkal.

Vellakkal has green surroundings, hospital within reach. Very little traffic noise inside the colony early on. Airport being close is useful for occasional travel. One of the calmer and more comfortable developing pockets in south Chennai.
