I've been renting in Pulianthope for 3 years. The biggest advantage is how close we are to Perambur and Central. MTC buses are frequent, especially the 32A and 33 series. However, traffic during school hours near Don Bosco School is crazy, and garbage often piles up on corners like Nainiappan Street. Still, house rents are affordable, which is why we stay.
I work in Parry’s and commute daily from Pulianthope. t’s just a 15-20 minute bus ride in the morning. The connectivity is excellent, but roads are uneven, especially near the water tank on Ayanavaram Road. Auto drivers tend to overcharge too. Water supply is reliable, but drainage can be an issue during rain.
Pulianthope is my home for 20 years. The area has grown, but not in the cleanest way. Garbage collection is inconsistent, but connectivity to Broadway and Central is fantastic. It’s working-class, affordable, and family-friendly.
I moved here after retirement. The area is spacious and residential, so very safe. However, monsoons are terrible. The waterlogging in front of my house reaches ankle-deep. Despite repeated complaints, the drainage project hasn’t progressed. Good neighbours, but infrastructure is lacking.
I came for a wedding near Don Bosco School. The area has strong community feel and is surprisingly walkable. Traffic is heavy in peak hours, and finding autos is also challenging. Still, the masjid nearby was beautiful and peaceful. Wouldn’t mind visiting again, but not sure I’d live there.
