Mummurti nagar is peaceful and calm..and commute is also easy via GST road and even tambaram station.

honestly the traffic at the Chromepet junction is my biggest nightmare during peak hours. The noise from the flyover construction and the constant bus movement on the main road can be quite loud

Well connected area..but you may face issues with parking..the narrow lanes get blocked easily if even one car is parked on the road..

water supply from the municipality is regularbut the quality can be a bit hard sometimes. Most houses here are older standalone buildings, so don't expect fancy lifts or big balconies.

It is a high yield rental market..due to massive demand from MEPZ emplioyees..one thing is the increasing commercialization which is affecting the traffic and building congestion..for commercial investors this can be helpful but if the road infra doesnt catch up soon, it will drive away many tenants

Getting out of Mummurti Nagar in the morning is a huge headache. The traffic near the Chromepet flyover junction is just crazy every single day. If you have to travel to OMR for work, you will easily spend 1 hour in jams.

Decent area for students TBH. Plenty of small mess places and tea shops around here that are quite cheap. The walk to Chromepet station takes about 10 minutes, so going to college is easy. Streets are mostly crowded, but it feels safe even if you walk back late.

Water supply is pretty sorted here because the local body pumps it every alternate morning, so we don't depend on tankers much. The internal streets are a bit tight for parking cars, but the main road is wide and well lit. Very peaceful pocket to live in.

Rent is around 13k for a 2BHK which is okay, but water quality is so so, sometimes it looks yellowish. Everything for daily needs is right outside on the main street. Good area if you have a bike, but getting an auto near the corner is always a hassle.

Mornings are very calm here for walking, and the air feels fresh near the local park patch. The big hospitals like Rela are close by, which is a relief. Only issue is the delivery bikes speed a lot through the lanes in the evening.

Garbage is just left on the roadside corners for days and nobody clears it. It smells terrible and brings so many mosquitoes to the whole lane. Customers complain about the filth when they visit. The civic body is completely neglecting this part of the area...

Everything is very handy here. Good schools are all within 2 kilometers, and there are small parks where kids can play safely. It is a family area out and out. No safety issues at night because shops stay open till 10 PM.

Roads here very bad, full of loose gravel and potholes. I come here every weekend to visit friends and finding a spot to park my car is a nightmare. The main bazaar side has good shops, but navigating the inner lanes is just annoying.

Land prices are decent right now and rental demand is high because of IT folks. But the drainage system is a worry, the roads flood quickly even during normal rains. Buy a property only if the ground floor is built high.

The noise level has become too much now. So many commercial shops have opened inside the residential lanes and they block the paths with delivery vans. Water timing is also getting erratic, we get it for only 1 hour now...
