Jangpura is a well-established residential locality in South Delhi with the PIN code 110014. Located near Lajpat Nagar, Bhogal, and Hazrat Nizamuddin, the area enjoys connectivity through Mathura Road, NH 44, and Mahatma Gandhi Road. The neighbourhood is known for its central location, tree-lined streets, and access to educational and healthcare facilities. Jangpura Metro Station on the Violet Line is about 1.7 km away, while Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is just 1.2 km away. Moolchand Hospital, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, and MGF Metropolitan Mall are located within a short distance. Property rates in Jangpura range from Rs. 9,350 to Rs. 35,150 per sq. ft. for builder floors, apartments, and independent houses.
I took a floor in Jangpura Extension. The locality feels safe even at night, and the neighbours mostly keep to themselves. It’s got that central Delhi vibe - well-placed but still homely. Bus and auto options are good, though parking is a pain sometimes.
Jangpura always felt like a safe bet. I bought a builder floor in the area 6 years ago. It’s maintained value, and there’s always someone looking to rent. Schools, hospitals, markets are all nearby.
Jangpura has been home for us for over a decade. It’s a tight-knit area, and you’ll find a mix of Punjabi, South Indian, and Bengali families here. Roads are a bit narrow, but the calm atmosphere, reliable power, and greenery around make it easy to live in.
Moved here for work, and honestly, Jangpura feels underrated. You get decent access to markets, the metro, and places like India Gate are just a ride away. There’s a calmness here.
Was in Jangpura for a dental clinic appointment. Getting there was easy via metro. Area looked organised and clean. There’s limited street parking, though. Otherwise, found it easy to move around.
Great area if you stay in a PG here. Lots of small eating joints and budget cafes are scattered across the internal lanes, so food is sorted. Walking to the metro station is easy because the streets have decent tree cover, though autos charge too much for short rides.
Commuting out of Jangpura in the morning is a massive pain. The exit roads leading toward Mathura Road get totally choked with cars and delivery bikes, and you easily waste 20 minutes just leaving the area. Peak hour traffic here is a permanent headache.
Water supply is the main issue... municipal water comes only for 2 hours in the morning and evening. You have to manage your day around that timing. Rent is around 32k for a small floor, which is high but expected for South Delhi.
Jangpura is very peaceful since the residential lanes are well cut off from the main highway noise. Markets for daily groceries and pharmacies are just a 2 minute walk away. The only annoyance is the dust from vehicles on the outer roads.
The neighborhood parks are kept clean and are nice for quiet evening strolls. Streetlights work properly, so walking on the internal roads feels quite safe after dark. Moolchand Hospital so close by is a big reassurance for emergencies.
The drainage system across this area is completely blocked. Even a small shower causes heavy flooding near the Bhogal side market lanes. MCD needs to clean the main drains before rains start.
Very good area for families because top schools and colleges are easily reachable from this side. Daily life is quite smooth since everything from fresh vegetables to stationary is available within the locality itself. Streets feel secure at all hours.
Finding roadside parking for a car is an absolute nightmare because the residential lanes are permanently packed with residents' vehicles. NGL it is better to take the metro or come on a bike.
Rental demand from working professionals is incredibly high due to the central South Delhi location. The Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station is right next door, which keeps property values strong. Prices are steep but the monthly returns are solid.
The lane conditions have gone down terribly. Massive potholes have opened up near the main entry points, turning the roads into a bumpy, dusty mess every single day.
