I feel Avadi is relatively safer than most parts in Chennai. I have never felt unsafe here and the crime rates are much lower than other areas.
I love how well connected this place is despite being a quiet and nature-centric area. It's close to public transports and healtcare and yet manages to offer a bit of nature with parks and lakes.
Public transport is easily accessible but the local markets can get a bit overcrowded. Like many parts of Chennai, Avadi faces water scarcity issues too. We have had to rely on tanker services quite often which becomes a hassle.
Avadi is a great place for families but if you're used to fine dine and premium restaurents, it may not be the perfct fit for you. I shifted here for my work, but I don't find any cafes or restaurents to hang out nearby.
