Finding a cheap PG around the inner lanes of Ekkatuthangal side is fine, but the food options are just so so. Mostly messes and tiny tea shops here. Good thing is buses from the main Guindy bus stop go everywhere.
Everything you need for daily life is within walking distance here. Markets, big pharmacies, and supermarkets are all right around the corner. Streets are also quite safe and well lit at night.

I come here every weekend for projects and it is a very active area. Autos near the station overcharge a lot though, better to just book a cab online or walk if it is nearby.
Walking on the footpaths here is getting impossible because of all the bikes parked on them. Even near Race Course Road the traffic noise is too loud now, can't even walk peacefully in the evenings.
Lots of footfall around the commercial streets near GST Road which helps business a lot. Finding parking for delivery vehicles is a daily struggle though, but the crowd keeps the sales steady.
Water timing is the biggest headache in this area... we get supply only for 1 hour in the morning and have to rush. If you miss it then you are stuck depending on private tankers. Very irritating.
Good schools are located very close by so travel time is saved. The streets are safe for walks and there are enough small shops around for quick grocery runs. Quite satisfied with the area.
Getting to the office is so sorted if you use Guindy Metro Station. I just park my bike there daily and hop on the train. Evening return traffic near the flyover is a mess though, but metro makes life very easy.
The dust from all the heavy vehicles moving through the main junctions is becoming too much, everything gets covered in dirt within hours. Garbage is also just left on the roadside corners for days... disgusting.
