Ambattur is well-connected by road and rail. The Ambattur railway station provides cost-effective public transportation. Bus stops are also near but can be often crowded during peak hours.
Main roads like the NH 48 and NH 716 are in decent condition, but many interior roads in Ambattur are flooded during rains.
The residential areas in Ambattur are safe and peaceful. There are many long-time residents who have been staying for generations. Some have relocated for different reasons, mostly because their offices are nearby. Safety is decent. Police patrolling has improved recently.
Ambattur has a wide range of schools - from CBSE and matriculation to Tamil-medium. Infrastructure around these schools is improving. There are also some good shopping malls, grocery outlets and hospitals in this locality.
This area is suitable for staying for families and bachelours and it's good for all community people.

Ambattur is a great area in Chennai. I love it here. Its close to cinemas, malls, cafes, and many hangout places
Apart from the limited transport links, the area is a good option for families. All major needs are in walking distance. there's korattur lake nearby too.
The area feels very crowded. No doubt it has all the amenities but walking space is limited. Not at all pedestrian friendly. so many buildings and shops that it does not feel breathable. I hope there was some open parks in the area
Ambattur is a well known and popular area. I recently moved here for my college internship at a school and so far it's been good. There are so many local cinema halls and biryani places here. But going far is an issue because no metro and the ambattur station is so crowded
Great area for renting out your properties. The demand is always on the high from college students and professionals. Families also prefer it. There are modern apartments here as well and both sides surrounded by korattur lake and ambattur lake.

MTC buses connect Abattur to different parts of Chennai. Roads in this locality are well-paved. There can be potholes after rains in some areas. Autos supplement buses but often refuse short distances.
