It seems you are an ardent follower of Vastu Shastras and it's good to follow the rules to welcome happiness and property in your house. An apartment facing south is actually not good. It is best to have the entrance in the East or North-east direction.
The same direction does for your balcony as well. Having a balcony in the south does not allow much sunlight to enter your house so it is not considered good. But you need not worry. I too lived in a south facing apartment for 4 years and everything was fine. You can do some pujas to remove the doshas.
