  • Maharashtra : As per the earlier provision of the land ceiling act, a single buyer was not allowed to buy more than 54 acres of land. But now as per the Maharashtra Government new amendment Act 1961, there is no restriction on holding more than 54 acres of land.
  • Telangana: In this state anyone can buy agricultural land and a person can hold 50 acres of land
  • Karnataka: In Karnataka the land ceiling is divided as per family ceiling limit that is of 54 acres (10 units) for a person or a five-member family and maximum of 108 acres (20 units) for a 10-member family.
  • Uttar Pradesh: A person can hold 12.5 acres of land in UP.
