How to Pack Sewing Machine for Moving?

Firstly, without the right packing supplies, you won't be able to safeguard your sewing machine, thus obtaining these resources before you move them should be your top priority. The following items are necessary to pack your sewing machine;

• Moving boxes

• Bubble wrap

• Stretch wrap

• Styrofoam

• Packing tape

Remove all loose components and add-ons, including the bobbins, needles, and presser foot. Put them in a ziplock bag or labelled container.

Set the presser foot and needle to the lowest positions. If there is a needle plate cover, use it.

Make sure that all sides of the sewing machine are covered by wrapping it in bubble wrap or a thick blanket. Packing tape should be used to secure the wrapping, keeping it away from the machine's surface.

Choose a sturdy cardboard box, ideally the original packaging if available. Add ample padding to the bottom, such as foam, or crumpled paper.

After wrapping the machine, carefully put it inside the box. To stop movement, apply more padding to any holes.
