In 2017, the Indian government increased the monthly salary threshold according to the Payment of Wages Act, 1936 (“Wages Act”) which was last revised in 2012. According to this act, it is important that the labour should be paid between Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 24,000 per month. Apart from this, most of the construction labourers receive at least a 10% hike per year.
