How to Remove White Cement from Tiles Home Remedies: Easy Steps Make Vinegar Solution

Pour the vinegar on a cleaning towel and completely let it soak completely. I suggest you take a cleaning towel that is big enough to cover every cement stain. Alternatively, you can also take 2 or more towels.

Leave the towel for 2-3 hours

Cover the cement stain with a towel that is soaked in vinegar and leave it there for around two-three hours. As the cement starts to loosen up, just use the scouring pad to scrub it off and remove the stains.

Rinse & Wash

Finally, just apply the dishwashing liquid to the scrubbed part and scrub thw tiles and floor using a sponge. This is sure to remove any leftover cement stain on the tiles or floor. Now, clean and let it dry.

We recently installed ceramic tiles on your 1st floor but the workers did not remove all the white cement from them. We initially neglected it but couldn’t do it for long since it was ruining the overall look of the house. So we decided to get rid of it ourselves. I asked friends for some advice on

how to clean white cement from tiles and most of them said vinegar will help me. But one of my friends said that since the cement must be dry and hard, vinegar might not be able to do the work of cleaning. So let me tell you what I used to clean my floor.

How to remove white cement from floor?

When I searched on the net, I could find a variety of items to clean my tiles. There are several items labeled as white cement remover but I could not rely on them. I bought Phosphoric acid and got my floor cleaned. Here is what I did.

I did not know how strong the liquid was so

  • I mixed the acid with some water

  • Let the mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes on the floor

  • Scrubbed the floor

  • Rinsed the floor

I will say that do not pour this acid directly on any tiles or be prepared to damage your floor. Also make sure you are wearing gloves while rubbing the floor or else it can cause itching or other problems on your hand.

This is the best possible answer for

how to remove white cement stains from tiles as you can get phosphoric acid easily and it is best to remove hard stains. You can use vinegar if the stain is light

I hope this answers

Last year, I renovated my home. However, construction workers left a big mess behind once the task was done. It was so disappointing to see white cement scattered everywhere on the tiles. One must clean the white cement from tiles immediately because they tend to develop a strong bond between the tile and cement. And it will become hard to clean. I started wondering how to remove cement from tiles.

While researching how to remove cement on tiles, I discovered the above-mentioned answers by Parvinder and Arpita. I entirely agree with the steps that they mentioned about how to clean cement from tiles. Vinegar and phosphoric acid are some of the important ways by which one can clean cement from tiles.

One of my friends, Anshu, asked me to use Muriatic acid to clean cement from tiles. I’d like to share the steps that I followed.

How to remove cement stains from tiles?
  • Safety First and Solution Preparation:

When handling any of the substances, particularly muriatic acid, put on gloves. Then, pour one gallon of water and one part of muriatic acid into a bucket.

Always make sure to add muriatic acid to the water. Furthermore, sulfamic acid, which is a milder acid than muriatic acid, can also be used.

  • Pour the Mixture on the Tiles:

Once the solution is ready, you can use a bucket cup to pour it over the tiles without getting any on your hands or clothing. Let the mixture sit on the tiles for a minimum of five minutes.

  • Rinse and Wipe:

Clean the tiles well with water, then use a wiper to remove the acid. A stiff bristle brush can be used to remove the cement once it has become loose.

You can add extra mixture and leave again for another round of five minutes if the spots don't disappear. Rinse it, then brush it once more.

You can rinse the entire area again after getting rid of the spots, then wipe it down to clean the cement.

How to remove dried white cement from tiles?

You can use various efficient methods to remove cement stains from tiles.

Vinegar Solution: It is first necessary to dilute the vinegar with water in an equal amount. Give the solution some time to soak after applying it to the problem areas. Use a non-abrasive sponge or a scrub brush to gently scrub the spots.

Baking soda with lemon juice paste: Baking soda and lemon juice should be combined to form a paste-like consistency. Allow the paste to sit for a time after applying it to the stained areas. After that, use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub the stains.

Commercial Cleaners: It is advised to carefully study the product's instructions because each brand may have different usage suggestions. Apply the cement remover to the stained areas, let it sit for a while, and then gently scrub. Then, thoroughly rinse to get rid of any residue.

Hydrochloric Acid (Caution: Handle with Care): When removing tough cement stains, hydrochloric acid is a potent solution that should be applied with caution. When diluting the hydrochloric acid, adhere to the manufacturer's instructions. Using a brush with acid-resistant bristles, apply the solution to the areas that are discoloured. Give it some time to relax, but avoid being in close proximity for an extended period of time. Give the tiles one last thorough water rinse.

Now that you know how to clean cement stains from tiles, it's important to keep in mind that different tile types may require different cleaning techniques before attempting to remove cement stains from tiles. Using powerful acid on some tiles could even cause damage to them. So it seems sense to ask the manufacturer for instructions.

It can be tricky to get rid of white cement, stuck in between the tiles. However, you can learn how to remove white cement from bathroom tiles by using two working methods I have tried myself. One uses HCl, while the other uses a paste made out of lemon juice and baking soda. Let me take you through the two methods in detail.

How to Get Rid of White Cement from Tiles?

Here are a few helpful methods to remove white cement from tiles.

  1. The first method will require you to make a cleaning mix of baking soda and lemon juice. You must obtain a paste-like consistency while mixing both. Once done, apply the paste over the tiles and keep it as it is for some time. Then, use a sponge and scrub the surface of the tiles. Then, clean the surface with water and wipe with a clean cloth.

  2. Another procedure is to use HCl i.e., hydrochloric acid. You must dilute it as per the directions of the manufacturer before usage. You then need to apply the HCl over the stained areas with the help of a best, which has acid-resistant bristles. Let it sit for some time, and do not remain in contact with it during this time. Lastly, clean the surface by rinsing it well with water.

So, these are two ways through which you can learn how to remove white cement from wall tiles. I hope my explanation helps.
