Can daughter claim father's property if father died before 2005?

Absolutely. The Supreme Court of India held that daughters will have coparcenary rights in father’s property even if the father died before Hindu Succession Amendment Act 2005 became effective.

Daughters can claim property share just like sons. And I think that is fair.
