Last week, one of my colleagues seemed a bit annoyed with her rented apartment. She had been mentioning how the deferred maintenance from the landlord’s end was causing her problems and it was from her that I learned about the deferred maintenance meaning. A deferred maintenance refers to the delay or neglect of property repairs. This is the simple definition of deferred maintenance.

How To Define Deferred Maintenance?

Deferred maintenance basically refers to delayed or rescheduled maintenance. For example, in my colleague's case, the landlord promised to repair the damp wall of her bedroom within a month but it had already been four months and no progress was being made. 

Deferred maintenance eventually causes the property to be more damaged and might reduce its value if not repaired on time. It's best to talk with the relevant person and sort out the problem.
