Let’s discuss an important question, “How to change name of proprietor in GST?” Although many of you believe that it is impossible to modify a firm's name once GST registration has been achieved. However, that is untrue. The proprietor's name can be changed through the GST official site. There is no need to revoke the registration if a modification in the legal name of a business is required. Let's look at the simplest process I've followed to modify the proprietor name in GST.
In the Goods and Services Tax system, changing the owner name is an effortless process that may be completed online.
Go to
https://services.gst.gov.in/services/login
.
Sign in using the current proprietor's username and password.
After logging in, the portal will ask for “Captcha.” Type the captcha code and click the "login" button.
Now, choose the Amendment of Registration of Core fields option under the Services tab.
The “Business Details” tab will then show up. Select the field that needs to be modified.
Click on the pencil icon to change the company's information, including the name of the owner. Fill out all the required fields.
Tap the 'Save' option.
Verify additional information in "Business details," then click "Continue."
The form must be finally signed with a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Electronic Verification Code (EVC) before the amendment is complete.
Changes to the business name may be amended by submitting form within 15 days. I hope you found this useful.
