Everyone with an annual turnover of Rs. 40 lakh needs to register themselves under GST as per the GST guidelines. Entities falling under special category states need to register GSR when the turnover exceeds Rs. 20 Lakhs. The composition scheme is available for business with an annual turnover of Rs. 1.05 Crores. The answer to what is the validity of the GST registration certificate will differ from person to person.
A person who is liable to register or a person's turnover exceeds the limit of Goods and Services Tax, needs to apply for registration within 30 days.
Now, let me tell you what is the validity of GST registration certificate.
For a normal user, there is no expiry date and so the GST certificate will continue to exist for a lifetime until it is canceled by the Goods and Services Tax Authority.
When it comes to Casual Taxable person or Non-Resident taxable person the validity is 90 days. But the good news is that the validity can be extended or renewed if required.
To get registered you need to visit the GST portal and search for a register option. Fill in the details in Part-A of Form GST REG-01 of GST Registration and include all the details required. You will also need to fill up Part-B of Form GST REG-01 after the verification of your mobile number. You may get a call to verify your documents and the form can get rejected due to some errors or inaccurate information. After the Goods and Services tax department verifies and approves the Form GST REG-06 you can avail of your certificate.
I hope you understand now what is the validity of GST registration certificate.
