Here is how to clean wooden worktops kitchen.

  1. First, remove all crumbs, dust, and food from the worktop. This makes cleaning easier.

  2. Then, mix warm water with a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the solution.

  3. Next, wipe the worktop gently to remove dirt and stains. Do not pour water directly on the wood because too much water can damage it.

  4. After that, wipe the surface with a clean damp cloth to remove any soap. Next, dry the worktop with a soft, dry cloth. Do not leave the surface wet.

  5. If you find a tough stain, make a weak bleach solution. Apply a small amount to the stain and rub it gently with a soft cloth in small circular motions.

  6. Then wipe the area with clean water and dry it well. Always test the solution on a small hidden area before using it on the whole worktop.

  7. Do not use steel wool, hard scrubbers, or strong cleaning products because they can scratch or damage the wood. Always use a chopping board while cutting vegetables, fruits, or meat.

  8. Place hot pots and pans on a trivet or heat-resistant mat rather than directly on the worktop. Wipe up water, oil, and food spills immediately to prevent stains and water damage.

  9. Finally, check the worktop for small scratches or dull areas. Lightly sand the damaged spot and apply wood oil if needed.

Clean the worktop regularly and oil it from time to time to keep it clean, smooth, and in good condition for many years. I hope this helps you.

Our kitchen worktop requires attention and care to keep looking pristine, as it is used every day. If you are new to wooden worktops and want to know the best way to clean them, you are in the right place. Let me share some effective tips on how to clean wooden worktops kitchen to keep your wooden worktop in perfect condition:

How To Clean Wooden Kitchen Worktops

If you have installed a wooden worktop recently, then I suggest you apply a thin layer of oil weekly and thereafter bi-weekly during the first month. This will surely enhance its durability. Plus, wood needs regular care to maintain its appearance.

You can simply clean wooden work surfaces daily using a damp cloth. You can even use a mild detergent if required. However, you should not use rough cloths, such as scouring pads, and strong, harmful chemicals like bleach as this can damage the surface.

I recommend you clean your kitchen worktops regularly using a disinfectant that will kill the bacteria that builds up during the preparation of food.  You can make a natural disinfectant, which would not harm your wooden worktop, using simple home ingredients.

All you have to do is add a tablespoon of washing-up liquid, half a cup of white vinegar, and two cups of water into a spray bottle and spray the solution to your worktop.  After that, use a damp cloth to wipe the solution off and dry the worktop thoroughly. Make sure the worktop has been well oiled and do not over-concentrate the solution. I hope you find this method on how to clean wooden worktops kitchen helpful.
