I also paid extra attention to the area around the stove because it usually collects more grease. For older or tougher stains, I tested any stronger cleaner on a small hidden area first to make sure it did not affect the paint.
Finally, I cleaned the cabinet handles and allowed everything to dry completely before putting the items back. Regularly wiping painted cabinets can prevent grease from building up and make future cleaning much easier.
