Summary
To clean cockroaches from a fridge, remove all food, unplug the appliance according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and wash the interior with warm water and dish soap. Clean shelves, drawers, door seals, droppings, and egg cases, then dry all surfaces completely before reconnecting the fridge. Inspect areas behind and beneath the appliance, discard exposed food, and store remaining food in airtight containers. For persistent infestations, seek professional pest control.

To get rid of cockroaches in your fridge, start by taking out all the food, turning off the power, and wiping down the interior using warm water mixed with dish soap. Make sure to remove cockroach droppings, food crumbs, and any debris, followed by wiping everything down with a clean cloth and letting it dry completely. Below, I have shared step-by-step procedures on how to clean cockroaches from fridge.

How can I Remove Cockroaches from Fridge?

  1. Take out every food item and place any perishable foods in an insulated cooler to maintain their freshness during the cleaning process.

  2. Turn off the fridge. Unplug it carefully and follow what the manufacturer recommends.

  3. Remove shelves and drawers. Soak and scrub all removable parts in warm, soapy water. Rinse well, dry them off, and replace them in the fridge.

  4. Gently wipe the inner walls, shelves, door pockets, and the rubber seal on the door using a soft cloth and a light dish soap solution.

  5. Gently vacuum or wipe out cockroach waste, skin sheds, and egg cases. Seal all vacuum debris in a bag and dispose of it safely.

  6. Let it dry. Polish all surfaces with a clean cloth and make sure everything is completely dry before plugging the fridge back in.

Don't forget to inspect the areas behind and under your fridge too, since cockroaches love hanging out in dark, cosy spots.

Get rid of any exposed food that cockroaches might have gotten into. Store your food in airtight containers and keep it back in the fridge as soon as it reaches a safe temperature. If you keep spotting cockroaches around, they could be hanging out behind your fridge or tucked away in nearby cabinets. Sometimes cleaning just isn't enough to tackle a serious infestation, so you must call a professional for pest control help.
