Both indoor and outdoor mould growth is common.

The mold-producing fungus is hardy and flourishes in damp, dark environments. Refrigerators are dark, wet, and cold, which promotes the formation of mould. If your refrigerator has mould, it will ruin your food, produce a putrid smell, and stain the compartments. I was perplexed, and concerned about fungus in fridge how to clean. Finally, my mother suggested a few home remedies to remove the mould from the fridge. She suggested a complete cleaning regime. Which actually helped me a lot in cleaning my fridge.

How to clean fridge with fungus:

• Throw away expired food and unused items

The first step is to check the expiration dates on every food item and discard anything that has already passed its prime. To remove stale, drenched food, put on gloves. These are the mold-causing agents. Put the rest of the items in a cooler. Never leave anything in the refrigerator or attempt to clean around it. Cleaning a refrigerator that has nothing in it will save you a lot of time.

Remove any detachable door inserts, drawers, and shelves while you're at it.

• Completely clean with warm water and soap.
