Hoodi is a developing area located on the outskirts of Bangalore. It has been transforming from a rural village to an urban locality in recent times due to rapid infrastructure development. Hoodi offers relatively affordable housing options like villas and apartments compared to other localities in the city.
Hoodi is located in the northern part of Bangalore towards the east. It falls under the Yelahanka subdivision and is about 25-30 km from the city center. Popular localities like Yelahanka, Bellandur and Marathahalli lie west of Hoodi, while Devanahalli is located to its north.
Earlier, Hoodi used to be a predominantly urban area located on the outskirts of Bangalore. However, with rapid urbanization and infrastructure growth over the last decade, the area has transformed significantly. Many gated communities and apartments have come up in Hoodi catering to the housing needs of the expanding urban population.
Hoodi falls under the Bengaluru Urban administrative division. Bengaluru UrbanTaluk is one of the eight taluks of Bangalore Urban district. It includes sub-divisions like Yelahanka, Channasandra and Kempapura apart from Hoodi.
The most posh and upmarket residential areas in Bangalore are generally considered to be localities situated south of the city like Indiranagar, JP Nagar, Koramangala, BTM Layout, Koramangala and Whitefield.
