What is Mural Painting?

As a painting artist, I can say that mural painting is a large painting made directly on a wall, ceiling, or other permanent surface. It is not made on a separate canvas. A mural becomes a part of the building because it is painted on its surface. I use mural painting to add colour, beauty, ideas, stories, or emotions to a space.

What is Meant by Mural Painting?

1. Mural painting has been used for many years. Even early people painted pictures and symbols on cave walls. Today, artists create murals in homes, schools, offices, public places, hotels, and other buildings. A mural can show nature, people, animals, traditional designs, cultural stories, or modern artwork.

2. The main difference between mural painting and canvas painting is the surface. A canvas painting is made on a movable canvas that can be framed and moved from one place to another. A mural is painted directly on a wall or another fixed surface, so it becomes part of the building.

3. As an artist, I also consider the size and shape of the wall before creating a mural. I look at the room, lighting, furniture, viewing distance, and overall style. These things help me choose the right colours, design, and size for the mural.

4. Mural painting can also change how a space looks and feels. A well-planned mural can make a plain wall more attractive and give the room a different mood. It can also make a small space look more open or give a large wall a stronger visual focus.

So, mural painting is artwork created directly on a permanent surface to make the space more beautiful and meaningful.

Hi. To tell you what is mural painting, understand it as an ancient art form that comprises painting directly on a wall or ceiling surface. What is Meant by Mural Painting?

Murals have been present since the start of humankind when the first humans created cave paintings on walls. So, murals have been a consistent art form in classical architecture.

Murals can serve a number of purposes. Traditionally, murals were intended basically to design and enhance the beauty of the place. In many areas, the walls of urban cities aren’t visually appealing and often fail to capture people’s attention. But murals have caught people’s eyes by adding beauty to the walls.

For a long period of time, public artworks such as murals were the only artworks that the common public and lower classes could see. Murals could be seen as a visual history or used to sell ideas or products, inform or convince people.

Murals use a lot of the same techniques as canvas paintings and are usually developed by painters. But today, you will also see a lot of modern versions of murals which are carved, projected or created with the help of s[spray paint.
