Hey there, If you have moved from one place to another because of your job. High chances you must have had to rent a place. There are many landlords that often misuse their power. To make sure something like that doesn't happen, you must know tenant rights in India. Take a look below to read more.

What are legal rights of tenants in India ?

Property lawyers in India talk about Tenancy Act. The act was passed to ensure that the landlord and tenant both enjoy their rights.

Here are some things that count as legal rights of tenant :

1. A tenant will be entitled to a  quiet and exclusive enjoyment of your home

2. The tenant  has the right to contact the landlord or their agent at any reasonable time.

3. The  landlord of the flat is only allowed to enter his home with your permission.

4. A tenant is entitled to a certain amount of notice of the termination of the tenancy.

Everything that has been mentioned in the rental agreement has to be upheld by both the parties involved. There are Governing laws in the land which protect the landlord as well. There are certain rent control measures put in place as well.

This is all from my side on tenant rights in india. If you want legal help, consult with a lawyer.
