To clean an acrylic kitchen sink daily, you can use warm water and mild dish soap to prevent buildup. For stubborn stains, try scrubbing with baking soda. I learnt how to clean an acrylic kitchen sink when I used an abrasive scrub pad and left tiny scratches that reduced the shine of my sink. Since then, I have stuck with safer ways that actually work. I have shared those methods below.

What is the Best Cleaning Method for Acrylic Sinks?

  • Daily cleaning:

You can rinse the sink with warm water and use a soft sponge and mild dish soap for daily cleaning.

    • Wipe gently in circular strokes and rinse thoroughly.

    • To prevent watermarks and dullness, always use a microfibre cloth to dry it.

  • Removing grease or stubborn stains:

When I noticed stains (particularly turmeric or oil marks), I tried a simple home remedy (as suggested by my mother). Those are:

    • Sprinkle baking soda on a moist sponge and scrape gently.

    • Spray a mixture of vinegar and water on the grease or limescale.

    • Allow it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse. This combination removes stains without damaging the surface.

  • Thorough cleaning (monthly):

Every month, I undertake a thorough cleaning of my kitchen sink. For that, follow these steps:

    • Fill the washbasin with warm, soapy water and wipe down all corners.

    • A diluted bleach solution will help disinfect and brighten stubborn stains, but ensure to rinse them fully afterwards.

    • This maintains the sinks clean and fresh-looking.

Hope you found these hacks helpful.

  3. For stain removal, what you can do is sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge. Then, scrub the stains in circular motions and let it sit for like 10 minutes. Rinse and dry. It works well to remove food stains and light discolouration.

  4. Mix vinegar and water in equal parts in a spray bottle. Then spray on stains or limescale. Wait for like 10 minutes, scrub gently, rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth.

  5. If you wish to do cleaning for tougher stains or yellowing, soak the sink in warm soapy water for 30 minutes. Then use baking soda or a gentle cream scrubbing.

So, this is the complete cleaning process you can follow for your acrylic kitchen sink. Ensure you always dry the sink after use and use a sink mat or strainer to protect from scratches. Also, wipe with vinegar weekly to prevent limescale if you have hard water in your area.
