When my job shifted me to Bellandur, I didn’t want to stay in a place that’s always buzzing. I found a 2BHK here in JCR Layout through a colleague. The vibe of this area is quite laid-back—early mornings are quiet, and I even hear birds now and then. Grocery stores and local bakeries are close by, so I barely take my scooter out during the week. Bus service is patchy though—I usually depend on autos or Rapido when my husband takes the car.

I visited my cousin here last month for a housewarming. What I noticed immediately was how clean the streets were—no overflowing garbage bins or random boards stuck everywhere. Felt very "residential" in the true sense. The only odd part was trying to get there by BMTC—it took two buses from Yeshwanthpur. Once inside though, it’s a peaceful pocket compared to the madness of the main city.

We built our independent house here about 6 years ago when the area was still coming up. Initially, we had to go to Marathahalli even for a decent restaurant or diagnostic lab. But now, everything is catching up—there’s a good school at the corner, and a multispecialty clinic opened last year. What I like is that our street is still not cramped like you see in most parts of the city. That said, the stray dog issue needs to be looked into—sometimes it’s hard to walk peacefully at night.

I bought a plot in JCR Layout back in 2018 when most people weren’t looking at this side of Panathur seriously. Fast forward to now, the growth has been quite solid. What attracted me was the balance—it wasn’t over-hyped like Whitefield, but still close enough to all the key tech parks. Rents have increased decently, and villas are coming up faster than expected. Only downside—lack of vibrant commercial corners. You won’t find branded cafes or malls immediately nearby yet.
