Most of us just live on quick commerce apps now. The dark stores for Zepto and Swiggy Instamart are are super close, so you genuinely get your bread and eggs in about 8-12 minutes. If you’re living in one of the older apartments near Central Street, you might have a tiny provision store like Rehman Stores nearby for a quick smoke or a biscuit packet. For proper grocery shopping, you can catch a quick auto to Cunningham Road or Vasanth Nagar where there are actual supermarkets like Namdhari’s or Nilgiris. Walking is possible, but carrying 5kg of rice through that traffic is a workout you didn't ask for.

I moved from Whitefield to Vasanth Nagar thinking life would be chill, but the traffic near the Commissioner’s office is a different level. Honestly, the only way to win at working in CBD is staying near a Green or Purple line station. If you’re near Infantry Road, you’re close to Cubbon Park Metro, but the walk can be sweaty. If you’re still taking a car/auto, you're paying high street rent just to watch the same signals you did when you lived in Indiranagar.

I feel you. I’ve been nearby for a year now. My hack? I started becoming an early riser. Infantry Road at 6 am is actually beautiful and weirdly peaceful. By 9 am, it’s a war zone. Honestly, it’s one of the safest spots because you’re right next to Raj Bhavan. There’s a cop at almost every junction. I’ve walked back from Church Street through the inner lanes late at night and felt fine, but the streetlights are hit or miss. If the lights are out, just call an Uber, don't try to be a hero for the plot!

If you’re moving here for the schools, you’ve already won. You’re literally 1 or 2 km away from the GOATs - Bishop Cotton, St. Joseph’s, and Sophia High School. Your kids won’t have to rot in a school bus for 2 hours like the kids in Whitefield. That extra sleep and family time is a major flex, even if the road outside is chaotic.

If your office is on the Purple Line, you’re literally winning at life. Cubbon Park Metro is a 5 mins walk and you’re in Indiranagar in 10 mins. While everyone else is rotting in an Uber at Coffee Day Square, you’re already at the cafe. Metro or nothing, TBH!!

When friends visit, I tell them not to even try parking on Infantry Road. I have them park at Sigma Mall or Garuda Mall and then just take a quick auto or cab. It sounds extra, but it’s cheaper than a towing fine and a lot less stressful than negotiating with the local 'parking mafias' who manage the street slots.

Infantry Road is basically CBD gold now, so a lot of old bungalows have turned into boutique law firms or ad agencies. But if you want a residential vibe, check out the rest-house crescent area or the lanes leading toward Cunningham road. It’s pricey and parking is a nightmare for guests, but for a family, having Cubbon Park as your front yard is a luxury you can’t get in HSR or Whitefield.

Calling Infantry Road noise 'occasional' is like calling a Bengaluru monsoon a 'light drizzle' a total myth. Unlike a quiet Coorg getaway, this major one-way artery is a non-stop beehive of roaring engines from 9 AM to 8 PM. In older buildings near the Police Commissioner’s Office or Safina Plaza, windows literally rattle as BMTC buses thunder past. Peace only arrives after 11 pm, but even then, modified exhausts frequently scream toward MG Road. Unless you have double-glazed windows, you’ll be sleeping with earplugs every night. It’s loud, rhythmic, and purely Bengaluru.

If you are living close to the main road then you will suffer through the constant noise and traffic. there are inner layouts too that feel quieter and much more manageable.

Yay, it’s almost funny to ask about noise if you live near Infantry Road. The traffic isn’t just loud during office hours, it’s busy most of the day. Horns, cars, and people fill the area from morning until night. After a while, you stop noticing every sound and just get used to it.

Its pretty noisy as there is lots of honking, buses, and general CBD chaos. It’s manageable indoors, but step outside and it’s full-on city soundtrack.

Rent near Infantry Road is quite high, mainly because it is close to MG Road and Shivajinagar. At first, the location sounds perfect. Offices, shops, buses, and the metro all seem nearby. But after thinking about it, a simple doubt comes up. Does living so close really make life easier, or do traffic, crowds, and noise cancel out the benefit? I would like to hear from people who live here. Do you feel the high rent is worth paying every month, or does it start feeling expensive once you settle in?

it honestly depends on what you prefer more. Quiet and peace or living close to all modern conveniences. For me, its not much hassle because my office is in walking distance so no commute stress. the traffic does get unbearable at times but that's bangalore for you

If your office is on Infantry Road or Cunningham Road, just pay the premium. Seriously, people living in Whitefield or Sarjapur are spending 3 hours a day staring at brake lights. By living here, you can walk to work, grab a coffee at Koshy’s on St. Marks Road, and be home before your colleagues have even cleared the Silk Board or ORR mess. The 'rent' is basically a subscription fee for your sanity.

Living near Infantry Road sounds amazing because everything is close, but you also have to deal with traffic noise. You are not just paying rent for the location, you’re paying to hear horns and see crowds every day. If you love being in the thick of it walks to MG Road & Shivajinagar, quick pubs and metros and then paying premium near Infantry Road can feel worth it. If you stay right on Infantry road then the noise is hard to ignore. But inside the lanes its somewhat peaceful and quiet, especially near Cox Town

Yeah, it gets tiring. But it is still a real neighborhood if you ignore the main road. Just walk into the small streets near Lady Curzon Hospital or Tasker Town, and you will still feel that old Bangalore vibe. Plus, having Cubbon Park right next door is a huge benefit that people living in Whitefield wish they had. Don’t let the traffic jams at Safina Plaza scare you; the best parts of this area are hidden in the quiet back streets.

The biggest flex for me here is the walkability. Inner lanes are so quiet and well maintained. There are just older apartments and standalones here so people often get confused

It’s definitely turning into a work & shopping zone. I’ve seen 3 old bungalows on the parallel roads go down in the last 2 years to make way for boutique office spaces. The only way to live here now is in the massive high end apartments like Mantri Altius where you’re high enough to ignore the traffic noise. For the rest of us in older standalone flats, it’s a constant battle against the dust and the silicon valley makeover of our street.

Very few actually live right on Infantry Road anymore as it’s mostly offices, shops, and commercial buildings now. A few old residential building still exist but homes there is rare these days.
Property appreciation here is consistent. Great for investors who want steady rental income. Just be ready to deal with older buildings and limited parking options.
