In painting, the polyurethane polymer provides a robust and long-lasting finish that is resistant to harsh weather conditions such as direct sunlight, wind, and rain. We have used PU paint for our house exterior. The greater gloss provides for better "self-cleaning" of dirt and dust during rain. It also helps to wash away any remaining dirt using detergent and water. As a result, polyurethane-based paint is usually the best choice for the long-term preservation and enhancement of a diverse range of objects. Let me explain what is PU paint.

PU paint meaning:

A polyurethane coating is a protective layer of polyurethane that is placed on the surface of a solid. Rust, weathering, abrasion, and other degrading processes are all protected by these coatings. Polyurethane is a form of polymer that has a carbamate chemical component group attached to it. This polymer substance is also thermosetting, which means that when heated, it burns rather than dissolves. Another feature of polyurethane coatings is their adaptability. Though polyurethane coats may seem to be comparable to other coatings on the surface, they have a number of unique characteristics that make them perfect for certain applications.

Uses of PU paint:

1) Polyurethane coatings are soft and more flexible than epoxy coatings, yet are more resistant. 2) Polyurethane-coated flooring is appropriate for medium to heavy foot activity because of this property.

3) Polyurethane floors have a small springiness because of the reduced rigidity, which allows them to sustain sharp impact loads.

4) They are also more resistant to abrasion and cracks and scratches as a result of their durability.

5) Polyurethane floors with improved elasticity can hold their shape and mechanical qualities at temperatures below 30°F (-1°C).

Is PU paint flammable?

Yes, PU coatings can catch fire. However, PU coatings apply a layer of polymer to the surface of a material that does not dissolve when heated but is combustible when in close interaction with fire. However, it can be employed in some instances where burning is the same as or slightly more than the environment. You can use PU Paint and PU Polish for the kitchen cabinet and cupboard, but there must be enough space (at least 3 feet)  between the stove and the cabinet.
