To paint a door without leaving brush marks, follow these basic guidelines.
  1. Take The Door Off Its Hinges: Without removing the door, you may still paint it. To reduce the mess created by running paint, we recommend pulling it off its hinges and resting it on a horizontal workstation.
  2. Choose The Right Paint: It makes a huge difference what kind of paint you use. Choose 'enamel' or water-based acrylic alkyd paints, which are commonly used by professional painters.
  3. Sand Down The Door: If prior paint jobs left brush traces on the door, you'll need to sand it down to remove them. Remove chipped paint, the runny paint, and brush strokes from the flat panels of the door.
  4. Sand After Every Coat: Sand after each coat of primer and paint to produce a fully smooth top-coat finish. Before applying the first layer of primer, sand the door using medium-grit sandpaper. Apply at least two coats of primer for a smooth finish.
  5. Prepare Your Workspace For Optimal Painting Conditions: A terrible paint job can be caused by a variety of factors, including dust, excessive heat or cold, excessive air, and inadequate lighting.
  6. Avoid Brushes Altogether: Professional painters use high-quality rollers instead of brushes to avoid brush strokes. The rounded edges of these rollers allow you to paint flat panels and grooves without creating paint overlap traces.
