About Vile Parle

Vile Parle, commonly known as Parla, is a Mumbai suburb in the western region. The Western Railway line divides Vile Parle into two parts, East and West. The Vile Parle pin codes are 400099, 400029, 400058, 400047, 400055 and 400057. It is close to prominent areas like Juhu, Andheri, and Santacruz.

Vile Parle got its name from two villages, Padle near Santacruz and Irle near Andheri, with a Christian community called Padale in the southern part. The region included an independent colony called Bhandar Wada. An old road connected Bhandar Wada and Padale, linking them to Sahar village through bullock carts, leading to a railway crossing at Padale. The Wadias owned Juhu and Parle and negotiated a contract until 1843. Over time, it has developed substantially from a peaceful village to a bustling suburban city. The area has evolved into a mixed-use locality.
