So, to give you a small definition, I would say that interior design is the process of planning and creating beautiful and functional spaces. It mainly fuses science with aesthetics to bring out a fresh look.

An interior designer like me handles the complete work of designing the interiors of any space, which can be both commercial and residential. So, my main task is to strike a balance between fulfilling the needs of the client and making the space aesthetically pleasing and functional.

There are several design styles that are in trend in India right now. 

1. Minimalistic: As you would have guessed, this design style promotes minimalism. We use neutral colours and keep things simple and well-organised.

2. Bohemian: The Bohemian style uses several patterns with low seating arrangements. 

3. Contemporary: In this, you’d find the usage of neutral colour with a pop effect in the form of a brighter colour. The design is clean, and natural light entering the space is taken into account.

4. Indian Traditional: Here, you’ll see the application of bright colours paired with solid wood furniture. For decor, handicrafts and folk art items are used.
