You can also cancel your eMandate in HDFC offline by visiting your nearest HDFC branch or by calling HDFC customer care. However, I find it easier to cancel eMandate online, as it is convenient and easy to do.

E mandate is a digital payment service that the RBI has initiated to help people collect recurring payments without human intervention. Everything will be done online with the help of e-mandate. It is like a standing instruction given to the bank by the customer. I was struggling to know how to cancel e mandate in HDFC since my uncle has an account there and asked me for its solution. I researched it and came across a process that I found pretty easy.  Let me share how to cancel or stop e mandate citing HDFC Bank as an example.

How to stop e mandate in HDFC?

I know how to stop the auto-debit, a kind of e-mandate from HDFC so let me share that process only here-

  • Go to the

    netbanking portal of HDFC

  • Provide your customer ID

  • Click on Continue

  • Go to bill pay and recharge opinion

  • Click on standing instructions

  • Select view/stop scheduled bills and stop it

So this is an HDFC e mandate cancel process. But if you have set some other standing instructions, you will need to visit the bank and ask the officials to stop it for you. I believe not every standing order can be cancelled easily. So if you are wondering how to cancel NACH mandate HDFC, I will suggest you visit the bank and tell the officials to cancel it for you. I hope the concept of how to cancel the e mandate is clear to you now. In most banks, the process is somewhat the same.

Not all mandates can be cancelled online. You can refer to Namrata’s answer to learn more about the HDFC ECS cancellation online. If you have initiated ECS (Electronic Clearing Service), you will have to reach out to the bank officials since I believe there is no online process to cancel it.

This is all I know about how to cancel e mandate in HDFC.

Hi there,

As per the guidelines of RBI, you can withdraw any amount or stop ECS by approaching the user institution to withdraw the mandate. The account holder can also withdraw the mandate without visiting the institution. But for this, a customer has to provide proper notice or intimation of mandate withdrawal to the ECS institution before the time of withdrawal. But the problem with ECS NACH mandate is that banks or stocks barely offer any cancellation requests online. But there are some institutions that have provided the process to cancel ECS; however, the process is pretty twisted. Let us learn how to stop ECS in HDFC bank.
