I would like to say thanks to Patel Raunak for providing such valuable information. Before we can figure out how many houses there are on the planet, we must first define our concepts. Besides the cooperative residence, such as hotels, rooming houses, and other accommodation houses, institutions, and camps, I define a house as "a construction for people to live in, generally, one that is self-contained and planned for a single-family. Let’s take a look at the number of houses in the world.

The total number of houses in the world:

For several countries, there is a list of household surveys in a Wikipedia article. I added up the housing in the first ten countries, which are listed in order of housing units, and came up with 1.160 billion housing units. According to Wikipedia, the world's population in 2012 was 1,593,563,453 households, with an average of 3.4 persons per family. According to the latest US Census Bureau world population estimate from June 2019, the current worldwide population is 7,577,130,400 individuals, greatly exceeding the 2015 world population of 7.2 billion. Based on UN figures, we estimate that the world's population has surpassed 7.7 billion people.

How many houses do we need?

According to the calculations, we will need to build approximately 170,000 further private sector houses and 75,000 extra social sector houses each year, for a total of 240,000-250,000 additional dwellings every year, apart from any decreases in the residential sector. Only 244,000 new apartment houses were produced every year on average between 2012 and 2016. 2 In 1989, the industry produced more than 325,000 units in a single year.

Which nations have the most people living in their homes?

This is a crucial factor to remember. While the housing units in any country are related to its population, the correlation is not exact. Wealth, family size, and the existence of extended relatives within a single household all play a role. These variables differ from one city to the next, as well as from one country to the next. When all of these considerations are taken into account, European countries have the smallest household sizes. Germany's households were the smallest in the world (just 2.05 people per household).

I hope you understood the number of houses in the world.
