  • Silicon carbide sandpaper for wet sanding; 400-, 600-, 800-, and 1000-grit

  • Power sander

  • Lacquer or varnish

  • Dry clothes for wiping the surface

  • Make a solution of 1:1 mineral spirits and gloss in a tray. 

  • Sand the wooden surface

  • Dust the wooden counter/ furniture with a clean cloth 

  • Apply a coat of the solution 

  • Let it dry

  • With a brush evenly apply two coats of polyurethane 

  • Once, both the coats have dried
