Compute the rent earned as income from any capital gain asset
Calculate the sale of any capital asset such as bank accounts, FD
Include the income from pension while determining the total income
Get form 26AS to determine TDS deducted on income so far in the financial year from TRACES website
Do HRA calculations and claim HRA if needed
Calculate income after determining all the sources of income and deducting the TDS and other charges
Claim deductions for provident fund, etc.
Once all these are in place, proceed to file the income tax return online on the income tax e filing portal by logging in using PAN number and password.
