My engineer brother told me that generally, to clean charging ports, compressed air pressure is used. This is how it works.
The can filled with nothing but air has a nozzle. You simply have to point the nozzle towards the charging port to give it a blast. The dust will loosen up and it will fall out on its own.
Another method is using a toothpick. I personally feel it is a riskier option because there are chances of damage happening. But if you are careful enough, this is what you need to do:
Take a toothpick and gently insert it in the charging port
Now sweep it gently across to loosen up dust or lint
Shake your phone and let it all fall out
Don’t use pins, needles or paperclips for the job. Scrapping them over charging port metal can do more harm than good.
