Once I also faced the same issue. My Paytm app was opening but within a few seconds it was getting blocked. I realised that my previous phone had the app installed and so did my new phone. I used the same number to install the app on both devices. I thus deleted the app from that phone and since then the app is working perfectly. So you might be having the same thing.
Other reasons can be:
Network issues
Might be providing a wrong PIN or wrong security code
Using more than one Paytm account on your phone
Install the app and reinstall it again to see what has happened. If the issue still persists, call Paytm customer support number:
0120-4456-456and ask them about it.
Till then I will advise you not to try even making any transactions through it. Use PhonePe, GooglePay or some other apps.
