PCC is a mixture of cement, fine aggregate (sand) and coarse aggregate. Before doing any construction work on the solid, PCC is done to level up the surface to create a strong base for the building. The PCC is directly applied to the soil so that the soil doesn't get mixed or water doesn't penetrate the soil which can weaken the PCC.Plain cement is also known as ‘cement concrete’ or ‘binding concrete’. Four to five ingredients are mixed to create the PCC such as:
Cement
Sand
Coarse Aggregate
Water
Admixture
Do’s and don’ts of PCC work:
Do’s
Make sure that the PPC shuttering is of the same size and thickness.
Materials should be mixed uniformly in water.
Additional labour is needed to pour the cement where there is more depth.
Remove any pits to prevent soil or materials from collapsing.
Mark the centre of the column a day after applying.
Don’ts
Mix the material in an empty space.
Do not pour the mixture into the water directly. Measure first and then pour.
Do not use PCC without formwork.
Do not pour concrete without levelling and compacting.
