Hey friend. I viewed your question and can answer what is the full form of EVC. This is a service provided by the Income Tax Department. It is mainly used by an individual to e-verify an item, log in to the e-Filing portal and reset their password. Let me share more information on this.

EVC full form

EVC stands for Electronic Verification Code, which is a 10-digit alpha-numeric code. At the time of e-verification, the EVC is received on the email address and mobile number, which are registered with the bank account, demat account and e-Filing portal. Once it is generated, the code is valid for a period of 3 days or 72 hours.

How can you generate EVC

Now that you know what EVC stands for, let me share some information regarding the process for generating EVC. Here, I will show the method through a Bank ATM.

  1. The first step is to check that your PAN Card is linked to your bank account and that the same PAN is also registered with the e-Filing portal.

  2. Next, swipe your debit card at the ATM and choose the option of “PIN for Income tax Filing”.

  3. Your EVC will be sent on your mobile number or the mail ID registered on the e-Filing portal.

I hope you’re now aware of the EVC meaning.

What is EVC in ITR filing? A 10-digit alphanumeric code known as an Electronic Verification Code (EVC) is delivered to your registered mobile device when you need to verify something electronically, log in to the e-Filing portal, or reset your password. I learnt about it through my CA friend. The EVC can be used to access the e-filing portal, reset your password, or electronically check items such as statutory forms, income tax returns, refund re-issue requests, and responses to notices.

What is EVC verification in ITR?

To understand EVC verification in ITR, it is important to understand if you can generate EVC for someone else or can anybody else generate EVC on your behalf. If the individual is the Principal Contact of the specific Entity, they may also generate EVC for another PAN (apart from a company) or TAN. If he is authorised to act as the PAN's representative, an individual taxpayer may also generate EVC for another PAN user.

EVC in ITR full form is Electronic Verification Code. You can select from the following ITR-V eVerification techniques. To file your returns, you just need to adhere to one of these.

  • EVC of ITR through net banking: Only a small number of banks in the nation provide this service. Logging into your net banking account will allow you to search for the e-verify option. The electronic verification code (EVC) or a 10-digit alpha-numeric number can then be generated from there.

  • EVC of ITR through your bank account: Even this option is only offered by a small number of banks. Your bank account number must first be pre-validated before you may generate an EVC.

  • Verify via Demat account: This process is somewhat comparable to bank account verification. Your demat account number must first undergo pre-verification before you can generate an EVC.

  • Verify through ATM: Only six banks have been given approval by the income tax authorities to provide these services. You can use the "pin for e-filing option" at their ATMs when you are there. You'll be able to create an EVC by doing this.

  • Aadhar card verification: As an alternative, you can use your Aadhar card and the OTP service to check your returns.

It is crucial to remember that the EVC created is a special number connected to your PAN. Additionally, a PAN can only have one EVC. You must create a new EVC for return if your return has to be modified or revised in any way. Now you know what is EVC in ITR.
