Yes. You should paint over the primer. My painter told me, primer is not the final coat. It is just there to prepare the wall and help the paint stick better. You can not leave it like that, as it can’t handle dust, sunlight, or rain.
If I didn’t paint over it, the wall would start looking dirty and patchy.
Also, a topcoat provides higher protection than a primer.
Apart from that, the paint gives the wall its proper color and finish. That is the important thing. A primer is just the base, like an undercoat for a car. Without the topcoat of paint, the job’s only half done.
